My question about the leasing the training ground rumour is who is going to invest the required £8m to £10m to bring it up to standard?

A tennant who doesn't own it?

A landlord who doesn't use it and who pulled the plug on it years ago?

The Valley would need maintenance but not to the same extent as Sparrows Lane, which needs major construction.

Their OS says they’ll invest heavily in the training facilities. Would be strange to do if they didn’t own it.
A critical component of AFC’s strategy will be to invest heavily into the training facility so that the club can attract and develop local talent and provide them with the opportunity to represent their club at a senior level.

The Aussies could employ Karren Brady to broker a deal.

Buying Charlton from a man in Brussels
He was five-foot-ten and full of mussels
I said, "do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a leasehold agreement

    And he said
You come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover, yeah

    Because "You're out"

Roly has misunderstood what 'Target 10,000' was all about, that's all...

Exactly. Neither side is likely to make a heavy capital investment so the players remain eating in a portacabin

After visiting this thread longing for some positive news what feels like half a million times since it started, it feels appropriate that I should make my first comment on it now so as to join in the push for 1000 pages. So here goes....

    I know nothing.

Will the Aussies make it to 1,000?

Has #theBelgianbastard paid off the debentures and we're good to roll

Is the Saudi deal still on the table or are they too busy worrying about women drivers?

Has Ashley finally managed to sell the Toon and is ready to downsize?

Has the new Honda deal at Red Bull re-ignited a joint Austrian/Japanese bid?

Have Reg and the Kuwaitis managed to match #addickted's bid?

Has Murray finally had enough and joined the B20?

is Makros booked for the Airman/NLA/Doucher/BB/Seed tag match?

Will the next CAST survey include a question on vegan options, safe standing and survey frequencies?

All these questions...…. and more, on the next 1,000 pages of

    THE TAKEOVER THREAD

Can I just say that I am really not bothered if this thread gets to 1000 pages.

It's a shame really that as the thread approaches it's big number all of the posts will just be inane drivel like this one, as opposed to the portentous drivel of earlier times.
  • Today's the day.........that we either hit 1000 pages or AFKA closes the thread.

Wouldn't it be funny if the admins closed this thread on 999 pages and 30 posts.
