F1 and the Darts getting rid of the girls for 2018...

Walk on girls, gone.
Good progressive move or PC gone mad? :-)

Should keep both, but only show their eyes.8

pc gone mad, not that there a huge part of either but the women doing it hardly have a gun to there head in theory your actually putting women out of proper work and into more seedy work.4
-
Replace them with guys in speedos and see if those same people complain7

Only if you think women can only do one kind of job...palarsehater said:pc gone mad, not that there a huge part of either but the women doing it hardly have a gun to there head in theory your actually putting women out of proper work and into more seedy work.

If they showed male darts players in speedos, I think most people would be complaining!ForeverAddickted said:Replace them with guys in speedos and see if those same people complain

Right move in my eyes, all that stuff seems a bit weird/desperate to me.7

I dont really care if they are there or not but i feel sorry for the girls that will lose income because its been taken away.10

PC Gone mad3

And of course being a model isn't even the same thing as being a prostitute.se9addick said:

All seemed harmless enough.0

Gotta remember the ladies doing this were doing it out of choice.
Its interesting that Cycling doesn't seem to haven't taken this stance1 -
It's absolute nonsense.
If we live in a world where a woman cannot be allowed to CHOOSE to walk, fully clothed, to a dart board and back then that is an example of political correctness gone mad.
Let's ban all models, of all forms, male and female, whilst we are it as well and then surely nobody can get upset by it.3 -
On our way to becoming a joyless world.1

makes bugger all difference to either sport however, they are putting people out of work to make themselves feel better.
the girls themselves, the agencies that book them, the people that coordinate them on the jobs etc etc, all lose income because someone else has decided it shouldn't be done in this day and age.
if they are happy to do it let them.2 -
Lots of girls out of work then. Does anybody ever ask those girls what they think of the decisions?1
-
Why would they want to do that?superclive98 said:Lots of girls out of work then. Does anybody ever ask those girls what they think of the decisions?

Because the women who keep emselves in shape and treat this kind of thing as a career, are not able to make their own minds up0

Cheerleaders next to go1

I must admit, this is the way I see it. A few of these women have been commenting on the interweb that they will now lose income that was always available in the past.cafcdave123 said:makes bugger all difference to either sport however, they are putting people out of work to make themselves feel better.

Plus the knock-on detrimental impact on booking agencies, etc.
Is it really that bad a thing if those involved are happy with it?2 -
Girl from school does all that type of work. Very attractive but thick as anything. She makes a nice little wage, I wonder where she will get work from now. Probably have to rely on the state.0
-
Away from F1 and the darts, they work in other sports and promotional stuff, like the Boat Show and the Motor Show etc.. Are we gonna ban em from doing that too, in time?0
-
Personally think this is a good thing. Shame for the girls who are going to need to find new work, but I don't like the message using them sends out about how society views the role of women. They feel anachronistic. Another option would have been to introduce 'grid guys' as well, so you are at least not just singling out women to be oggled, but I;m not crazy about the whole idea of people of either gender being paraded as eye candy when it is totally unrelated to the main event they are being used at.9
-
Doesn't bother me at all. I have the internet.7
-
It's just as anachronistic there - if you;re at a motor show to look at cars, why do need some dorris draped over the bonnet of the car? Surely you just want to look at the car anyway.i_b_b_o_r_g said:Away from F1 and the darts, they work in other sports and promotional stuff, like the Boat Show and the Motor Show etc.. I don't think it's that bad a thing, if you made a list of all the ways that women could be exploited then ring girls/darts girls/cheerleaders aren't at the top.stonemuse said:

I think the "the girls that do it don't mind" line is completely missing the point. I'm sure the girls that do it are paid well and aren't forced into it - however regardless of how willingly they do the job or how well they are paid for it the role itself is based entirely on the objectification of women, it's almost impossible to argue that it isn't.3 -
I don't, but it's her right to earn a living and not for blokes (I assume most of us here are men) to deny em that.Exiled_Addick said:

As someone said above, they're not forced to do it, it a career0
