Well that's far more impressive than Flintoff ever managed. Pedalo? pffft

Botham would certainly have done the all nighters, don't think he ever got arrested for ABH though...
He was arrested a number of times, assault certainly one of them.

wtf are they doing out at 2.30 am ?? These guys are supposed to be professionals & are midway through a ODI series. I wonder if Ben Reeves was with them...

It's not as if it was the night before a game. They went out on a sunday night when they didn't have a game until Wednesday
They are still in the middle of an ODI series. They are supposed to be professionals & get paid very well for what they do (inc sponsorship). In a weeks time they have a 2 month break - perhaps then they could go out then for a p**s up.

Although it might not matter too much as we are 2-0 up in the series both are now missing tomorrows game at the Oval. If I had a ticket I'd be returning it & demanding a refund.
True but just because they're professionals, doesn't mean they can't have a social life. I don't see how going out 3 days before a game is a problem, assuming of course they can behave.
Having a social life & going out is one thing - being out at 2.30 am is another.

I don't see why being out at 2.30am socialising is a problem, however ABH is something different.

Could do a lot worse than our lad Darren!
sigh ... IF ONLY he were 10 years younger ((:>)
  • Yep, will be a shame not to see Hales and Stokes tomorrow.

Don't have an issue with them being out a few days before a game though.

Botham was involved in an incident along with the Scunthorpe goalkeeper of the time, Joe Neenan.

If memory serves me right Botham got off but Neenan was convicted or pleaded guilty.

  • What time should tomorrow's game finish if it goes the distance? Around 8?

Neither of them are a patch on James Anderson, he's a beautiful man.

From the information email I got today:

Gates will open at 10:30am and the match will start at 12:30pm.
The interval will be taken at approximately 4:00pm and will last 40 minutes.
The game is expected to finish around 8:30pm.

Thanks, for some reason I wasn't sent the usual email you get before a match

Rain forecast from 8pm so might not get a full game in, but enough time for DL method to take effect

A pointless 12:30 start really, other than maybe giving Sky a couple of hours of "prime time" cricket, it certainly is of no benefit to the paying spectators
  • Got a spare ticket for the game if anyone wants it. Can meet at the gate whenever.

    Plus side, it's free.

Downside, you'll have to sit near me ... and I will be drunk...

Seriously tho, don't want it to go to waste, so if you've got nothing on and fancy it, let me know.
  • Bairstow
    Roy
    Root
    Morgan
    Buttler
    Billings
    Moeen
    Woakes
    Rashid
    Plunkett
    Ball

Almost as many keepers as bowlers!
  • Brilliant knock from Lewis.

Couldn't believe it when it came up with 94 balls on the big screen - he didn't get out of second gear. Impressive.

Yeah, they're saying some good things about him.

good pitch, decent weather, the West Indies can still put on an exciting batting performance

  • Great shame if he can't carry on now as he is destined to break Viv Richard's ODI record against England - plus no player in England has ever got a white ball double hundred.
  • Shame Lewis was stretchered off, but a great knock. Great to see England set a big target, hopefully rain won't spoil the match

Think windies are great odds are 4/5 with no Hales or Stokes. Chance for Morgan and Buttler to get some form and win the game.
  • What a shame that Lewis couldn't push on for the double ton - outrageous knock.

    He got an unbelieveable reception.

In an ODI? Bopara has one in List A
  • Brilliant innings by ALi and also Buttler puts England 3 runs ahead of DL when the rain came !
  • It was the first time they were ahead for about an hour.

It's shit system and needs to be scrapped. Just call it a draw ffs

    Give it a break.
DL is a fantastic system, works brilliantly and adds another dimension to the game as proved tonight when the crowd was cheering when England moved ahead.
