2-0. And we can't stop winning.
Apparently, our recent winning ways have been inspired by a powerpoint that Karl found on an old usb disk in his desk: Advancing the Addicks!23 -
It's like the dam has been breached.0

Thanks for the updatez. Another win.0

Oh to be in Crawley when the Addicks are there.0

Didn't listen to the game but sounds like we were good. Very happy Lapslie obviously. Given we have, is it two or five more games in the group stage, might be worth keeping the likes of him and Phillips arouns

Even though it was only the Chubby Checker Cup, really enjoyed following the matchthread tonight.
Sounds like a really decent performance from our youngsters - and so pleased one young lad scored on his debut.

More Addicks there than at Rotherham? Fair play if a little bizarre, i think i read Lapsile was a Charlton fan? Either way delighted for him2

We may knock the Checkatrade but a wins a win and the academy boys and fringe players did well tonight. It sounds like there is a real good feeling about the club currently. Long may it continue!7

Got convinced and bribed into going tonight. I thought we looked okay. Konsa and Sarr looked too good for this level. Both goals taken well.
Overall, much better than I was expecting.23 -
Entertaining game, the lads looked like they were enjoying themselves.
Bearing in mind that KAG is usually in our first team squad, and should therefore be a cut above the rest out there this eve, he was shite.5 -
How did Henry's love child play?
I believe he provided an assist for the 2nd goal - but just wondering how he coped being lone striker and his link up play?

512 online at the moment - delirium at our first proper win in this tournament6

Is that only 9 different goal scorers for charlton so far this season ? If we don't get another striker soon we're screwed.2
-
I like the sound of Reeves..Scoham said:
"Ben Reeves - 8 - Charlton’s most dangerous player on the night. Took his goal really well and never wasted the ball in the final third. His performance will have fans licking their lips - and the best thing is - he’s not even fully fit yet. Man of the match."11 -
It's not just about goals it's also about depth. If one of Magennis or Novak get injured we would only have youngsters on the bench.letthegoodtimesroll said:Is that only 9 different goal scorers for charlton so far this season ? If we don't get another striker soon we're screwed.
Having only two senior strikers will put more pressure on them to play through any injuries they pick up with little option to rest them.
It'll also put what should be unnecessary pressure on any young strikers that come into the team. It's a lot to ask them to play up front on their own in a season where we're expecting promotion.13 -
I'd rather play Clarke up front instead of the youngsters, with Reeves coming into fitness, and the likes of Aribo and KAH who can also play in the attacking 30

First sign of madness quoting myself but .....Oggy Red said:How did Henry's love child play?

From the News Hopper: "Reeco Hackett-Fairchild - 6 - Never really had any opportunities in front of goal. His hold-up play was impressive, though, for such a young striker."
Sounds promising. Can anyone actually at the match elaborate?

Sarr sounded superb, so super sub
for Pearce & Bauer.4 -
I was there and Fairchild worked tirelessly for me and had some moments of real quality also. The biggest surprise for me tho was how good sarr was compared to when I last saw him. He was very good tonight12

Sarr was great. Still not expecting too much from him long term, but dare I say it, will not panic if he needs to play 3/4 games this season.2
-
Very good all round performance.
Highlights for me were Reeves and Sarr. Konsa was also excellent but I expected that.
Anfernee is a very able deputy for Solly.
The disappointment for me was the young left back we brought on near the end. I don't think he's got a future in the game unfortunately.7 -
Enjoyable game to watch and everyone put in a good shift. Naby Sarr with an unreal performance and MOM, including a feigned shot and an outside of the boot through ball into the left channel. Reeves looked very tidy during his 50 or so mins. Hackett-Fairchild did well with the ball into his feet or behind the defence, but not so much with the high balls. Him and especially KAG could use a goal at some point in this comp. Every player looked so pleased for Lapslie to grab his goal...was stood right in line with his scuffed trickling shot and was clearly going to hit the post, but you couldn't tell if it would bounce in. Luckily it did, and he seemed chuffed!

I suspect it is because he is a dream teammate. Lapslie is very much about making it easy for others by taking personal responsibility.Busterblitz said:Enjoyable game to watch and everyone put in a good shift. Lapslie is retweeting literally everything about the goal. He must be over the moon and then some lol. Go on lad!! (And Reeves)9

I don't want to take anything away from the kids tonight, but Crawley were awful. If the boys had their shooting boots on it could have been double figures.0

Thought Sarr was very impressive tonight, but remember this was against Crawley who weren't very good. Nice to get the win but I'm very glad this isn't our first team.2
