If asked in February few if any will remember the scoreline. We're out of the cup which is fine. Six academy graduates from the start and it sounded like they held their own for ~75min, and they're all one game more experienced. That's it, move on to Saturday.26

Not fussed about being out at all. Hope the youngsters get the chance to play in the checkatrade. Shame we conceded a 4th, would have happily accepted 3-1. Sounds like we played ok at times, but didn't create much and Norwich could have scored more.0

There's an inevitably about Charlton and cups. I don't expect anything and never get disappointed.3

Played a 2nd XI v a Championship side away and got turned over, it happens.
Shame Lapsie didn't get on or that Reeco didn't score but we move on.
Want to win every game but we didn't.
On to Rotherham.9 -
Great run out for the youngsters they will benefit from that.
Win Saturday and let's move on5 -
Look on the bright side, at least we don't have to get up At 4am on Thursday , to hear the draw!11

We're still in the playoff positions.

Let's face it, if we had played a full strength team against Norwich, we'd have probably lost anyway...5

Is this true?
Charlie: You get more prize money for winning the FA Cup third round than losing the EFL Cup final... maybe that's part of the problem?1 -
Sort of, more like 3 though.SDAddick said:If asked in February few if any will remember the scoreline. We're out of the cup which is fine. Cheesed off about going out. Don't believe in all this Mickey Mouse cup talk. I like the cups, but understand the need to play reserves these days. It's a shame, money has become the be-all of football.7

Dont worry we'll still be in the draw on Thursday morning2

We must all now focus on the Checkatrade23

Well we lost but at least we can make a joke about it5

There's a fine balance between resting 10-players and taking a morale-spanking drubbing huh...2

Didn't see the game but sounds like we had our chances?, as others have said it was good for the youngsters but Norwich aren't exactly a top championship side and although it was a good few changes from Saturday that wasn't a complete kids majority of them will play in the coming season in league matches.0

At the game. I'm a little disappointed as I was expecting a little bit more with the players out there tonight. Largely reflected how we were in the friendly against them. Overall, they had better players on the park.
Jacko is obviously limited in what he can bring to the table. Billy Clarke was for me our stand out performer. Fosu couldn't really produce his previous standards. Konsa held his own but unfortunately contributed to their second goal. The big disappointment for me was Ahearne Grant who struggled against championship quality.
Anyway, upwards and onwards to the New York Stadium.17 -
Season's over for me now after that tonight. The Carabao is always the biggie in my book and that exit's proper done me in.
See you next season folks.

Quite happy we're out. It gave the youngsters a bit more experience and hopefully there were no injuries.3

Getting through would have been nice, but giving the youngsters some good experience, hopefully giving Novak some much needed confidence and no injuries is surely the next best thing we could have hoped for.0

Good experience for the young 'uns lets crack on and get out this shit league !0

We deservedly lost to a pretty slick and high quality side, although 4-1 felt harsh on the overall balance of play. Josh Murphy was the catalyst for them down the left and although Dijksteel did well against him, particularly in the first half, Norwich's superior skill, passing and movement wore us down in the end.
We were pleased to go in at 1-1 at half-time. Fosu seemed to have a great chance to put us ahead before half time but elected to misplace a pass across the area rather than shoot although, against that, Norwich worked a lot of decent opportunities and Phillips had to be alert to keep us on terms.
Their second goal early in the second half had a big slice of luck about it but, ironically, I thought we then had our best spell at 2-1 down. Magennis and Da Silva came on as substitutes and made an immediate impact, with Josh heading a sumptuous cross from Da Silva just wide, with the keeper beaten all ends up. He also stretched them down the right flank with his pace and power and put one superb cross low into the box which their defender just managed to clear. Predictably, the game got stretched in the latter stages and Norwich, having weathered our best spell, made their extra class and experience tell.
All in all, a very respectable performance by our good young side, even if the final score felt a little rough. Happily, we're not going to be facing the likes of Naismith, Murphy and Wes Hoolihan every week, although that is the level to which we must ultimately aspire. I look forward to the day when we can again come to Carrow Road and complete on equal terms.

We didn't poach any of them against the will of other clubs. My comment was more about finding a way to be a miseryguts about our developing young players.cafcfan1990 said:
