  • Because Zaha was making all the difference before the ANC
  • Still can't see it , 6/4 they are to go down , just think the chuff down there won't have the goals that palace will get
    We live in hope though
  • Because Zaha was making all the difference before the ANC

Enough difference to not be a bottom 3 team though...

The other concern would be another team getting dragged into the mire as there usually is one - and at the moment it's looking like being the current Premier League title holders.

Assuming they do get nothing from today's game, Leicester will have picked up just 10 points from their last 13 matches. Mahrez (away at the ANC but may be back soon) and Vardy haven't performed to the same level but, there again, the other Clubs now know how they play anyway so there is no surprise element. They are also badly missing Williams, one, if not their most influential player.

The biggest issue, however, is that, unlike last season, where they were only fighting on one front, they do have Champions League and potential FA Cup additional games to play.

I know some will say that "Leicester have too many players to go down" but that's been said many times before and it can be difficult to rectify a poor run. They are still about 12/1 to go down but were double that price this time last year - and we know what happened then.

Don't know who Williams is unless you're getting mixed up with Swansea? Watford are in free fall so may aid their escape.

Indeed I am - and YOU could say I was talking a load of Bollox. The back four is exactly the same as last year.

    They did lose Kante though.
  • Because Zaha was making all the difference before the ANC

The guy is a penalty / free-kick machine, with his constant diving antics.
They are a considerably more dangerous with him in the team and, IMHO, the longer he stays in Africa, the better.

    palaces next league 6 are

    watford a
    arsenal a
    swansea h
    west ham a
    everton h
    bournemouth a

cant see them winning any of them.

so far so good, and they are proper in it now.
another week and about the only thing football wise that is bringing any joy.

... and holders Ivory Coast go out at the group stage.
    This is a disaster.

It's really not. He was available all 2016 and they averaged 0.71 points per game. He might be their best player, but that's like being the world's tallest midget.

Why are the likes of Sunderland and Hull selling their best players? It's almost as if they don't expect to stay up.

  • Bit weird spending £12m on Schlupp and £14m on Van Aanholt about two weeks later - aren't they both left backs?

Schlupp can play wide left midfield but also played up front in the early part of his career.

What did Charlton sell their top goal scorer, it's as if they don't want to get promoted.

And should they go down not a chance they'll recoup anything near the amount of money paid for these two.

With all the spending they've done in the summer and this window they can't be far off breaching FFP now surely?

Palace are trying to stay up by spending money on rejects from the clubs doing as badly as them. It's delicious.

They're both pretty similar players, 2 left sided players in one window is a bit curious

I've no idea what's going on at Hull selling Livermore and Snodgrass. It's not as if they spent much in the summer either

Hull are assuming that they are going down and taking what money they can now - or get nothing like that by way of transfer money when they do. Owners won't back the manager and the Sky money will disappear.

    Has this ever happened before?

You can understand a team not spending much after promotion, but a team not spending much then selling their best players in January is bizarre. At this rate they'll go down with a worse team than the one that got them promoted!

14 million!?!? For Van Aanholt? Ridiculously over the odds

It's especially mad since they took the trouble/cost to bring in a new manager.

Especially as it's not as if they're stranded. In a season with several poor teams at the bottom, they have a realistic chance of coming 4th bottom
