well sell lookman n magennis n roland rat will pocket all the cash OUR CLUB
Actually, I reckon we'll outlay anything up to £2m, probably on midfielders. I think we'll have a bigger squad than before, even after outgoings. Could be wrong. Let's see before we leap to judgement!3 -
There must be a Kinsella, Graham Stuart type out there somewhere. I really feel this is all we need to push on.1

KR seems like the type of person who would be upbeat if they'd just shat their pantsup_the_valley said:Karl says we will spend in January (and seems very upbeat about it). How much and on who is anyone's guess. Any ideas?

Hmmm, think we had all this with Russell as well. Then a week before the window closed he was coming out with statements in the press that we were still 6 players short.
It almost seemed as if he'd been promised when he took the job that he'd be able to sign a load of players but the reality turned out to be quite the opposite of that.
Anyway, Katrien has said on a number of occasions that they've learned from their mistakes so I'm sure we'll get it right this time.
Premier League here we come (Ryman Premier League obviously).3 -
As he is taking Jacko with him, perhaps we should bombard Jacko's Twitter with our ideas!0

I'm pretty sure it will be the same old story as well. Why would it be any different. RD & KM are incompetent. Roland will tell KR that Joe Aribo signing a new deal is ampleMrLargo said:Hmmm, think we had all this with Russell as well. From a fairly reliable source, Ade cousin, is that he doesn't want to leave because he wants first team football. So the sun story 'wanted first team assurances' may ring true..2

I don't think Lookman is anywhere near Premiership ready yet so being a replacement for Bolasie seems a bit of a stretch. He has huge potential undoubtedly and is far too good for League One on his day but needs to learn so much more and i feel he needs to do that with us until the end of the season at least and then maybe one full season in the Championship. If Everton want to pay £10m deal for him with a bulk upfront then that is fine for me because you can't turn that kind of money down when you are in League One, not that i want to lose him at all. My only concern is we won't see that money reinvested in the squad.5

Mentioned on another thread, apparently Lookman is a done deal to Everton. This was done a few weeks ago just after Bolaise got injured. Rising to 5.7m.5

So LESS than we supposedly turn down in the summer?Redhenry said:Mentioned on another thread, apparently Lookman is a done deal to Everton. This was done a few weeks ago just after Bolaise got injured. Rising to 5.7m.

No way Lookman will get into Evertons match day squad let alone first eleven. If the fee is anywhere near £10 million I'd be very surprised.
I think an amount rising to what Redhenry says is probably pretty close.

The Sun(I know, I know) is saying £10 million.Henry Irving said:

With the amount of money floating around in the PL now - £100m for last place - £5.7mill (seemingly only this if performance targets are met) is an appalling piece of negotiation.0
-
If it lines his pockets, and it hurts us that is what that toss pot will do.

The press can speculate all they want, Meire said he wasn't going to be sold and that's the end of it.5

Ricky Miller to Peterborough? Barry Fry at it again. Buy from non-league and sell on for a profit. Plus they have the dough from the Chelsea cup-tie to play with. (Clubs who play weakened teams in the FA Cup and get knocked out, should take note).
Lookman is a street footballer. He doesn't have the tactical nous to play at that level. He would be better off in a promotion chasing Championsip team, like Gayle at Newcastle. £10 mill is a big gamble, but Everton have new money to spend, so they may spend it. But they wouldn't get it back if Lookman fails, so where is the value? Is he any better than Deloufeu or Lennon, who can't nail down a place in the team and are in and out. I doubt it very much.10 -
If Lookman goes, lets hope Everton have a spare midfielder to loan us.0

Didn't think he was too bad, we had another one of theirs a couple of seasons back and he was poor, can't remember his name though.addick1965 said:

I watched Huddersfield on TV last week and they have at least 8 players better than Lookman. If he goes to the premier league for £6m I suspect he will go the Poyet route. Very overrated and he represents a little glimmer of hope some supporters have been clinging on to. Happy to go on record, Lookman will never make a premier league player. However, I am biased. I can't stand the bloke who to me represents everything that is wrong in football. Bad attitude and cocky little bugger. Fancy Dan backheeler.16

You may be right about him in the prem, I disagree but what I know?masicat said:I watched Huddersfield on TV last week and they have at least 8 players better than Lookman. But having met him he doesn't appear at all cocky or have a bad attitude.5 -
Nothing wrong with a young player being cocky as long as he keeps that to his football and not into the rest of his life.
I think Lookman will have a very good chance of making it as a PL player but I'm not convinced that's for another three or four years. Needs football games in good environment and that isn't always easy to find out on loan as a young man.3 -
If you got to talk to him, he is none of the above. His Dad and him really like Charlton and Ade only wants to go to a Premier Club where he has got a chance of getting in the First team. He is modest and shy. His relaxed attitude on the pitch looks like he doesn't care. It makes me laugh when people decide what somebody is like without having met them.masicat said:I watched Huddersfield on TV last week and they have at least 8 players better than Lookman.
