Could be a Steve Brown type emergency goalkeeper when and if Rudd gets sent off.

NewsShopper says that there was a Midfielder in for a medical today alongside Magennis. Anyone know who it might be?

Sven Claes confirms that is the Leeds player Bokata on loan.

So it looks like some people have decided he is shit already before he has kicked a ball in anger. Pathetic

    Perhaps we don't deserve success.

Pretty sure he has kicked a ball before, and based on how he did that I personally think he is shit.
Sorry. I didn't released he had played for us before. My mistake.
You do know that football is played outside of Charlton Athletic, right? In fact, I'm not so certain that football is played at Charlton these days... ;)
I only decide if a Charlton player is shit once he's actually played for us . You should try it.
Again, didn't say he was shit.

We need a bench with some pace and power. Oh and we need a new midfield as well, pretty much wholesale. Nathan Jones seemed to have his whole midfield more dynamic than our whole team. Cameron Mcgeehan Mr Slade?

Perhaps Rudd was just cover until we signed this bloke to play in goal.

Is there any more news on Maitland-Niles from Arsenal? Apparently we were told we had to wait for Wenger to make up his mind about what to do with him? Hence why this Botaka lad is coming in maybe..?

Played for Ipswich last season, why would he drop down to league 1?

Thought that myself but why would you also want to sit on the bench if no one comes in? League 1 is better than nothing for game time experience.

Really pleased with this signing. He probably won't score much but he'll put it about and is the sort of player fans love, as shown by the reaction of Kilmarnock supporters to him leaving.
On the negativity of our fans; I think it's to be expected to a degree. We've been served up such horse shit for three years that the natural reaction is to assume the worst, particularly after two defeats to less than glamorous opposition.
I do think as a fan base we need to give this team, and not the regime, time to settle. I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to ranting about a loss but hopefully those at The Valley on Sat give the players a rousing reception and continued support.

Before I give my opinion on this signing I will admit I am odd...........People are mentioning Leaburn and Iwellumo, well that will do for me as I thought both were excellent for the club, Leaburn is up there alongside Kinsella as my favourite player of all time.

Never seen him play more than a few minutes during the Euros and that is hardly a fair comparison for League 1 football, and regardless I'll judge him on what he does for us alone. So many players just click at one club for some reason, or just cannot settle somewhere despite having done well elsewhere. On paper he has the potential to do well here, but there are never any guarantees.

Sounds like his style will make him something of a marmite player. He certainly doesn't sound like a 'thinking man's' footballer, but sometimes brawn wins over brains and we certainly need options up front.

Welcome Josh and good luck, as with all new signings, I hope you're a roaring success.

The Museum tweeted earlier that we signed Di Canio on 11 August 2003.

No disrespect intended to Josh on 11 August 2016 but how the mighty are fallen.

Agreed - why anyone outside of Scotland would want to voluntarily want to watch scottish league football is beyond me

Those knocking the signing need to remember we are a troubled League 1 side with dreadful and loathed owners whose fans at war with the board. We are hardly in a position to sign household names. Let's see how this works out and just hope this was not another one where Squirrel Face made the decision.

How many household names did we sign in League 1 under Powell? Only one I'd really heard of was Bradley Wright Phillips and the one that people on here got most excited about was Danny Green, who was arguably the biggest disappointment of all of them.

Reputation is not necessarily proportional to talent.
  • "We are delighted to reveal Josh as our latest summer signing. We believe he has the necessary attributes to succeed and earn himself a loan deal at a better run club that we will partly subsidise."

Scored and two assists in that game. Really made the difference between the two sides. He spent a lot of last season on the right wing and has more to offer than most people on here are expecting.

A good signing at League one level......

You could be right. But it happens to be part of my job.

Solid player, adds squad depth which is needed.

As someone else said before, the Aberdeen team he was in before was not as good as the current one.

He is starting fresh, lets see what he has got.

    Good luck Josh!

Albeit not really where it's needed.
Are you sure? Take out Ajose and Novak and the next striker was Hanlan, KAG or Umerah.
Fair point. My concern about the centre of our midfield had made me blasé about our forward line.
