  • I only decide if a Charlton player is shit once he's actually played for us . You should try it.

Ah yeah, the magical Charlton shirt which turns shit players good.

    Totally missed it

So it looks like some people have decided he is shit already before he has kicked a ball in anger. Pathetic

    Perhaps we don't deserve success.

It's not that I think he's shit, I just expect he'll be limited. I fear that with our lack of ball playing midfielders or defenders for that matter, and in signing a lump of a center forward, we're just going to be playing direct, back to front football. The problem is, a lot of teams in this division do that, and I don't see us being better at it than most teams. Also, who is going to provide someone like Mcgennis service?

I've been underwhelmed by all of Slade's signings with the exception of Rudd (not counting Ajose and Holmes as they were already lined up, Novak is a draw as he was lined up but Slade convinced him to come). Our team is crying out for creativity on the flanks and in midfield, but that is yet to be addressed.
Not sure why a lot of people assume this division is about playing direct - yes most will try to hold shape and counter, but thats not long or direct just plain organised. You also need players to be able to do this well. You will see a lot of teams here in this division keep the ball quite well. A lot of good youngsters on loan from premier league sides. I totally agree with you they need a creative midfielder , but you also need the energy/ dynamic type.

He was a target that we had been trying to get over the line for a few weeks. In fact, we had him done at one stage, but it didn’t happen because the goalposts were moved. Fair play to Katrien, she got round the table again and managed to get the deal over the line again. Sometimes you think you have got your man and then things can change but we dealt with that situation in a real professional manner and managed to get our man.”

Fair play to katrein she now can sell Lookman

And I'm a monkey's uncle! FOR FUCK'S SAKE what do they take us for?

We know JM didn't turn out for Killy at the weekend.
Magennis had a good idea what he'd be earning here, fancied it, had a word with Killy, who wangled a much bigger cheque out of Charlton's piss poor chief exec.

Don't get me wrong I'm pleased he's joined but even Alistair Campbell and Tony B Liar would blanch at spin of this shamelessness.

Welcome Josh, here's hoping you've brought your shooting boots (and your new colleagues manage to get the ball to you some in the opponents' box).

Don't think we're entitled to be that choosy on the striker front. Wall landed a 6'6" lad from Folkestone Invicta. Young and not yet very good with his head. That's what I call a target man. We need an Iwelumo. Never forget the winner at So'ton.

And 3 days later, another Iwelumo last minute winner at Bristol City.

Picture goal, thanks to the run and cross from Andy Reid.

welcome to the Valley of hell Josh. I would back you to score lots of goals unfortunately we don't have any midfielders who will create any chances for you.
  • Nothing wrong with the signing.

I hate that he offered any praise to our inept CEO.

Nothing can be done or said for her to win a large percent of us back over.

You are starting to dig your own grave Slade.

Gotta give the guy a chance, its crazy to slate him before hes even kicked a ball.
Any signing is a gamble on whether they could be good or shit but heres to hoping he will be a good buy!

    CEO signs player shock.

    That's her bloody job.

What next? Groundsman cut grass, tea lady pours tea?

Nothing to do with Magennis though. Hope he does well for us. Sounds a bit with that Enoch Showumni who was at Tranmere. Not the best or most skillful player but big, strong, fast, scored a few goals and gave over teams problems including us. Pushed back-lines up the pitch too.

Solid player, adds squad depth which is needed.

As someone else said before, the Aberdeen team he was in before was not as good as the current one.

He is starting fresh, lets see what he has got.

    Good luck Josh!

Albeit not really where it's needed.

Are you sure? Take out Ajose and Novak and the next striker was Hanlan, KAG or Umerah.

Excellent. Fast and strong, he'll be a useful addition. With our midfield currently looking shot in the centre the combination of Novak and Ajose is going to struggle with the kind of service it'll receive. Add in someone to actually hold the ball further up the pitch and our talented wingers can come into the attack and we might see Ajose shifting onto the shoulder of the last defender. I'm pleased with this one and I think as the season drags on we'll be really grateful to have an outlet up top
  • Haven't been to either of the games so far, but it sounds like Ajose has been crying out for someone in this mould up top alongside him. Whether he's any good or not we'll wait and see...

Sven Claes confirms that is the Leeds player Botaka on loan.
