Bordering on spoilers there Kent, I'd respectfully ask you refrain from giving away too much that is supposed to happen please.0

Don't worry that's not spoilers just speculation. The show is ahead of the books now so us readers as just as in the dark as anyone else.0 -
lol. do you really think they'll end the entire show with "the long night" still coming and dany still in essos?! That's LOST level of an ending.Exiled_Addick said:Bordering on spoilers there Kent, I'd respectfully ask you refrain from giving away too much that is supposed to happen please.

I can see then that it might be easier to have less episodes.mcgrandall said:The producers have said 13 episodes after this season, maybe split in to two for budgeting reasons. Also with a much greater focus, hence the chopping of the Dorne storyline. There has been the suggestion that this is a negotiation tactic.
Thought this week was excellent. It was great to see Danny's story finally move forward after two series. There seems to be so much ground to cover this series and only six episodes left. Potentially Clange bowl, 2nd battle of Winterfell, a return to the river lands, the kingsmoot and the tower of joy.

Given the number of character deaths in GoT I'd be surprised if the character makes it that far, let alone the actor!Fiiish said:
I was going to say that the reason the pace might be upped now could be because they are no longer shackled by the pace the books are currently at, or that they are worried that too many actors will leave/die/get too old before they wrap up their stories. Probably the former but I'm looking at Julian Glover (Pycelle) and wondering if he will make it to season 8?Exiled_Addick said:
Now the TV show is flying somewhat solo from the books, they seem to be trying to up the pace. Three or four potentially juicy story lines setup this week. The acid test will be how soon we see the pay-off to the setup. In previous seasons these kind of things would take several episodes, if not seasons, to come to fruition, so I wouldn't get too excited about the pace just yet.Fiiish said:I thought this week's episode was very good. Lots going on. Can't believe it is only the 4th episode, I feel like this is the fastest season so far in terms of pacing. Last season dragged by comparison.
Was it on here that I read they are aiming for 2 more seasons? If that is the case, then with about 400 different story lines with their ends still flapping loose in the breeze, they really have to start upping the tempo a bit soon otherwise they will never be able to tie them all up.
After the latest episode though, sooner or later, shit is gonna get real!

Just re read your post re dragons and white walkers, and rather embarrisngly, I missed a crucial "if" which makes it clearer you were speculating, so I apologize for that. Speculation I'm fine with, but I'm not totally sure where we are in the chronology of what has been written in books and what the TV show is now making it up for itself so I'm still sensitive about spoilers and I don't want to avoid this thread altogether on account of being a relentlessly boring prick which means I don't have a lot of real friends to chat to about the show.1

TV show as has been mentioned is ahead of the books.0
-
Now with balon greyjoy dead and the "bastard letter" (which in the books is delivered to Jon before he gets killed - its the reason his brothers turn on him because he wants to march down to winterfell) I think it's now completely caught up with the books.Dazzler21 said:TV show as has been mentioned is ahead of the books.

Yes bar a couple of MIA characters that's true, had Danaerys completed Monday's actions in the book? I don't remember it... But then I find her story tedious in the book.kentaddick said:

That death was less of a surprise than the re-awakening of Jon Snow.0
-
It wasn't so much Ramsay saying "what use would I have for you?" As it was the writers. She'd hit a dead end. No narrative purpose.1

The TV show is way ahead of the books and the two plots have diverged significantly anyway. It's now impossible to post any spoilers about the plot of GoT.Exiled_Addick said:Just re read your post re dragons and white walkers, and rather embarrisngly, I missed a crucial "if" which makes it clearer you were speculating, so I apologize for that. Danny's story had caught up by the end of last series, so it is all new. Only the Iron Islands and the Riverlands are still behind in terms of the books.Dazzler21 said:
