So really, there isn't much point in continuing the search for a new manager. Might as well just give it to Nobby and b done with it.

He's probably played a brilliant move here has CW, always wanted the Sheff Utd job, made it clear he is available by talking to Charlton.

You won't. He'll hide for a few weeks and then tell us how great Nobby is.

And hopefully he will come out and say what a bunch of morons are in charge of this club. He owes us that.

In other words they tried to con him, just like they conned Riga into returning. No manager with any brain is now going to take us on without having his lawyer scrutinise the contract very carefully.

    Absolute fecking car crash.

Outside of two shed's network of incompetents, who in their right mind would touch us?

well, seeing as I was told he'd said 'no' on Saturday it seems like he was then drawn back to the table by assurances that he would get a say in transfers etc only for them to renege on that later. Quelle surprise.

Managers are only the flavour of the month for a whole, and a disaster in one job can change a manager's reputation very quickly.

Why join a club where inadequate signings from poor leagues are forced in front of you?

If Wilder thinks the job/situation is not for him then so be it.

He wanted assurances over control and buying? You mean he wanted to be able to choose his own players? Outrageous! What's Luzon up to....

Think he's out of a job so potential.
Unfortunately Peeters is managing in the Belgian Pro League so that rules him out.

He's pacing Regent a street frantically looking for somebody who remotely resembles a football manager.

this. any manager worth his salt will insist on such assurances so whoever now takes it is a lackie with no balls and that will be someone I can't support. Roland Out !

You couldn't make this up. As a comedy programme it would be totally unrealistic. What a total shambles we have become!

  • This saga will prove useful for them to blame as a reason we couldn't do our business early and now have to rely on kids and nobodies.

Does make you think that this was a show for our benefit and was never really going to happen.

I'm somewhat pleased. As previously mentioned, I think we can do better, including a coach (and I want a coach, not a manager) who has worked with foreign players and who would be able to at least attempt to keep some of the squad. Wilder felt to me like he was the one recommended by Lennie Lawrence, and given that Lennie was the first British person to give them advice on British football, they threw everything into trying to get him.

I'd rather we give power over signings to a Director of Football. In League One, we should be a club who can attract players who might be able to play at a higher level but because of our "size and stature" they'd be willing to take a punt on Charlton. It's what SCP did very well. I don't see CW as having that ability. Knowing lower/non-league bargains isn't necessarily the same.

Nigel Adkins definitely has something of the Brent/Pardew about him, but he did well at Soton and I think we could do worse. My first choice if we go British remains Gary Monk.

As I said. Doors are closing. Even the non credible candidates will be turning their noses up.

This is all about Meire imo. He bought this club for her. She runs it her way.She will never be bought to task or sacked. As long as Duchatelet's here ,so will she be. Nobody will tell her what to do,no matter how good it is for the club. That's the remit.
The very fibre of this club is under threat because of a senial old scroat and his attempts to woo and impress a young girl.

There it is. Black and White.
