Club Cock Up

I know Romax as they are a client. They do this for much bigger firms and client lists than CAFC.Airman Brown said:
It could be, but having worked with Romax over many years it's unlikely IMO. The club extracts the data from its system and sends it to them. It's Romax's core activity, it's not the club's. Something's gone wrong in the csv file, but the club may be able to work out what and resend these affected, rather than start again with everyone. It's probably a £15k job overall though, so not cheap.Henry Irving said:This was done by a specialist firm out near the Blackwall Tunnel. Don't recall such a level of problems before.
Don't know if the same firm is still doing it but this could be a problem at the mailing firm rather than by the club itself.
Still not acceptable though and the Clubs responsibility to resove both for legal reasons and to get renewals.
Not great timing.
Would be interesting to know if they were used this time.0 -
Joshua Clipsham, COME ON DOWN! To my house to pick up your ST application form.....5

This smacks of someone doing some kind of data manipulation in Excel without selecting all the fields in the record. I'd have thought it's unlikely the core club contact database is affected, just the extract the people doing the mailout are using, so if you do renew, you should be OK. That said, they should have had some kind of checking mechanism in place to make sure that the errors were identified before the letters were sent out.0

You're not in the clique fella. I started the myth of the clique and you were never considered to be part of it.Henry Irving said:
They obviously didn't include me or WSS as we are in the clique.

Poorer old Ben Kensell, he's barely finished phoning everyone up about his North Upper table plan, and now he's got to phone them all up again !4
-
I've still not had a call afka :-;0

Me neither RRH. Don't want one either tbh0

Maybe not the same level, but I received someone else's season ticket last year.Henry Irving said:Don't recall such a level of problems before
Amazingly it was my sisters yet she has never lived at my address and has a different surname. The only thing that I can think links us at the ticket office is getting away tickets together.0 -
Did you notice Powells picture wasn't on any of the flyers? This would of been sent to print weeks ago!!0

If you cut corners with the staff these errors tend to creep in.0

Portraying someone as a Charlton fan, when they're not, would surely be grounds for a defamation of character case!0

Our two are okay.
BUT did anyone else notice the bit that says: "Please note: We will allocate you a seat as close as possible to your requested seat above. Should you require the specific seat contact us on 0871..."
What's that about? Is it a generic comment to deal with the Crossbars fiasco or what?

Our 3 are all correct! Does that mean we have to go and be there to watch?0

Not be funny, this is a serious screw up, isn't it ?0

Isn't the club's "data controller" - whoever that designated individual may be - under a legal obligation to grass the club up to the Information Commissioner?0
-
If anyone knows a 69 yr old fella called John green, tell him I've ordered 4 ST's in the NU plus the Crossbars package, as I sometimes fancy a beer at HT.........................4
-
It can be reported to the Information Commissioner
http://ico.org.uk/complaints/handling
But someone needs to contact the club first to give them an opportunity to try and fix it.0 -
Apparantly I have changed my name to Reg Scotter...............news to me!. The wife assures me no one called Reg lives with us and the milkman is definitley Alan.4

Just a bit, an absolute shambles by the sounds of it.0 -

This did make me laugh, I got home to 3 of these packs. I chucked them as you couldn't pay me to put money into the club whilst that nob Rolaaand is in charge and then i looked in the bin and yeah only my youngest had the correct details on it. The other two were random supporters who have never lived at my place. I hope they post me 3 separate apologies and 3 separate replacement packs now. Pricks.1

I suspect you will very quickly be getting a PM from him or his brother !cafcdave123 said:got mine and one for Edward New, whoever he may be?
