I'm guessing that if the wrong names have been merged with addresses then the pre-printed details will be wrong inside and the forms are useless so should be destroyed.
I think this "make friends with some Charlton fans" is a good idea. By the time you have all handed over the paperwork to the right people you will be best mates and happy to take part in the matchday experience in Crossbars with your extended Charlton friendship group.
They obviously didn't include me or WSS as we are in the clique.
I assume an apology will be published and the entire mail out will be repeated with the correct details. In the meantime I will need to ring them up tomorrow at 10p per minute to ensure that the season ticket I bought on Saturday doesn't get sent to Ivor Bailey. Oh well, I'll get to check whether Chris Powell is still answering the phone. What a balls up and what a day to do it.
Joking aside, this is a data protection issue. Someone's name and address and personal details are protected data and the club holds them for the purpose for which they were obtained, i.e. watching football with a season ticket. Sending that data out to someone else because you've ***ed up the mailout is an offence and if anyone affected complains, the club could be fined. Just because people are often casual about their personal data doesn't mean anyone who holds that data can be. This is the sort of thing that councils/govt departments sometimes do and get fined for.
Again, being serious. Question:
If I accidentally [I've always posted on here honestly and openly, & I have been told I I'm to honest & open] let slip my address/mobile/landline number on here, are the moderators/owners of this site Liable if someone else uses the information to use that for their own purposes ? As I say, serious question. Who is to blame If someone/computer/whatever cocks-up ?
The truth is that Roland is very disapointed in the lack of support demonstrated by Charlton fans so he wants to replace us with new ones. The problem is that the new ones don't want to pay for season tickets so the master plan is to get us to buy the tickets for them! Very clever!
According to my season ticket application form. My name is Samantha Boow and I was born on the 23rd October last year. As a VIP and a supporter for 45 years how can they get it so wrong?

Alicia Bevan, I have yours. I didn't even think I'd given the club my new address yet they're managed to track me down and then send me someone else's details.impressive stuff

Anybody notice that there are no photo's of CP. 3 picture of ex players and a picture of a pitch that has nr resemblace of ours. All my details are correct.
This was done by a specialist firm out near the Blackwall Tunnel. Don't recall such a level of problems before.
Don't know if the same firm is still doing it but this could be a problem at the mailing firm rather than by the club itself.
Still not acceptable though and the Clubs responsibility to resove both for legal reasons and to get renewals.
Not great timing.
It could be, but having worked with Romax over many years it's unlikely IMO. The club extracts the data from its system and sends it to them. It's Romax's core activity, it's not the club's. Something's gone wrong in the csv file, but the club may be able to work out what and resend these affected, rather than start again with everyone. It's probably a £15k job overall though, so not cheap.

Perhaps they're hoping a hold a giant swingers party, where everyone swaps season ticket forms and partners
