Does setting off to a game and staying in the pub count?0

Twenty minutes from the end 4-2 down home to Norwich in 1997 . Final score 4-4 .0

Half time in the Notts County game, 0-4 down0

I don't leave early but was one of very few Charlton fans remaining at the end when we lost 5-0 at Tottenham during Les Reed's short reign as manager.
Most left at half time or shortly after.
It makes me laugh when people repeatedly say on here that those who travel to away games are "proper" supporters. I didn't see much evidence that day. Kishishev being told to "fuck off and die" being just one example of our fans "getting behind the boys and making some noise."0 -
Usually I'll only leave when the injury time board goes up if I'm going early and thats to beat the traffic and cos I dont want to hear the fans booing if its been a bad result.
Cant think why I left early that day but the one time I regret was when Llera scored the 2-2 equaliser against Swindon and so I missed it0 -
2mins into the second half at Everton. We went 4-0 down. Can't remember the year.
About 30 from time in the Leeds 6-1 a few years back.0 -
why bother going if your going to leave early. would you go to the cinema and leave 10 mins before the end to beat the traffic0
-
Earliest ive left is Millwall away when the 2nd went in. Latest ive got away is Millwall away when they wouldnt open the gates.0
-
I left early when the fourth goal went in for the spanners. unfortunately I couldn't get out anyway.0

Maybe because I used to have other engagements (i.e. to get back to work to finish my shift...) In my Sainsburys days my non-matchday shifts were 2pm-10pm.itsmyball said:why bother going if your going to leave early. would you go to the cinema and leave 10 mins before the end to beat the traffic
On Charlton days they were 8am - 12 (break for Football) then 6pm - 10pm0 -

Never left early.
Can understand why some people do it, but when I saw people leaving early on Tuesday night, with us having a right go to get the winner, I just couldn't understand why. It's understandable to beat traffic etc if the game is tied up, but when all 3 resutls are still possible, surely sitting in traffic doesnt matter that much!0 -
Did you come in to the game late? I remember Charlton getting one goal? OG from memory, or maybe it was Andy Reid? Defo a 5-1 though.LenGlover said:I don't leave early but was one of very few Charlton fans remaining at the end when we lost 5-0 at Tottenham during Les Reed's short reign as manager.

Only time I've ever got to a game late was when we travelled to Ipswich and Forest (our Championship relegation year) and that was because the coaches got held up in traffic0

It was a grim day anyway!0 -
I left the 'film' American Sweethearts, ten minutes after it had started, what a load of shyte. Don't generally leave early from footy games though. One thing that annoys me in the East Stand is the latecomers, every week two guys come in at 3.15pm and make everyone get up (dropping their blankets and spilling their Bovril) and then ten minutes after half time as well, WHY?itsmyball said:why bother going if your going to leave early. would you go to the cinema and leave 10 mins before the end to beat the traffic

Played ok for the first few minutes if my memory serves me right, but then Defoe and Berbatov tore us a new one, and yes I was one of the ones who left early, about the 75 minute mark.LenGlover said:

I'm not sure of the year 70's Midweek game against Luton, I think we were 0-5 down at half time might have been 6, had a long journey home so thought I have had enough of this cr@p. The gates were locked and had to climb over to get out. The old joke was the truth Charlton lock the fans in not out.0

Half time against pisa anglo italian only time I have ever left early always stay to the sometimes bitter end0

Think it was Barnsley at home 2008, we were 3-0 down at half time it was cold and wet, was thoroughly depressed at our rapid demise and left at half time.0
-
When the fifth went in when we lost 5-2 to Sheffield United in Pardew's final game. I think it was about the 85th min.0
-
left 5 minutes before the end of the home tonking by Brighton, think it was 4-0 but never saw the 4th0

I was there till the end. I remember a strange half man/half woman screaming, 'Come on, Charlton we can do this!' as we went into the final minute of injury time 5-1 down.

About 20 mins before the end of the Brentford defeat at home in the JPT 0-30
-
Don't normally leave early unless i have to be somewhere, but rememeber being at Watford away on my own sometime back and we were 4-0 at half time, left and was home in time for the final scores0
-
Left the Norwich 4-4 game at 4-2 down. Final score came up just as I got into the Oak. Also left Burnley last week when the third went in. Saved me having to hang around Burnley for an extra hour and a half and I just wanted to get home. Feel bad about that one though.0
