Putting aside the disappointment for a second this has been a brilliant few hours of CL/forums. We’ve had iron clad ITK’s become doubtful, a meltdown on the other forum, snipes between both, saw someone say not signing him means we’ve gone from guaranteed to staying up to being guaranteed to be in a relegation scrap, one poster with a conspiracy theory about the CEO they can’t let go, plenty of CL in jokes and it’s still only 3 o clock. Just need him to sign at 5 for it to be complete
    But no fish puns
  • I personally don’t think the deal a dead duck yet .. but will be interesting if he involved in Reading squad at the weekend … this one is a shame cause he is an excellent player and would have pushed us safety into mid-table … but the club are the ones spending  the money and it has to right and if there an ounce of doubt then you have to walk away …
What makes you think that, Col?

  • I was 99.9% sure that was going to happen, so I wonder what has happened there.

    - Cawley said a deal is being worked on (very rare he says that unless its borderline done)
    - Reading journalist said he expected the move to transpire
    - O'Rourke said he expected it to go ahead
    - a newly reliable ITK who was 2/3 on other rumours dropped, so it added up

That's rough. A League1 player not being able to agree terms with a Championship side is odd, makes me think he has more than one offer. Cause there's no way Knibbs goes back to Reading & another year of League 1 if he had our offer on the table surely.

    Very odd
…..nothing odd at all.  No deal is done until it is done. If he has been turned by a better offer or whatever, why is he a loss to us?

    Much ado about nothing.
  • Only good thing out of this whole knibbs thing is we know we have a bit more money to spend, hopefully we just get it right

I'm just wondering how @Goddenole can be so adamant that Knibbs was there Tuesday doing some running after the match if not true, assume it was from the same source as the rest of his ITK stuff, and he sounded quite assured it did happen, as strange as that appears...
What if the rumours of his actually having signed were accurate but because of Dane Murphy’s involvement the EFL have made the signing null and void for irregularities ? Could it be resurrected with CAFC getting a slapped wrist ?
Or, something amiss as to Reading's ownership issues, are any monies due to the previously sanctioned Dai Yonnge and as such the transfer being in breech of league rules.
I just asked Perplexity Pro AI and using multiple sources it says that all legal disputes with Dai Yonnge were resolved with the takeover, which the EFL ratified.

But also on the other hand let's other clubs know we've got money to play with and clubs might start to get daft with prices.

    There’s still time…
  • Listened to Rich's podcast interview with Sir Chris, can't believe he could of signed Harry Kane - now that would have been a transfer

Well one thing is guaranteed to happen, whatever club he now signs for will now get a striker who will score 20+ goals next year.

I nearly said that but decided it was too much of an open goal!

Sometimes there a cooling of period where both parties perhaps need to re think .. if as I read he very disappointed that the move as not happened there still might be a solution that can be reached … last thing Reading want would be a player who heart not really in it ??

  • I have to say though, I am now using a public WiFi server, and just got this add. I want to know what that golf club is all about..

You've nailed it Ronnie, failed the medical because he didn't have a heart, we dodged a bullet there.
  • Just to add the amount of work gone into this transfer like the Kelman transfer, if it something that can sorted out got to be better then wasting all that time and having to start again ??

It's a radar club that picks up the static caused by pvc (I wonder what websites you've been looking at to get ads served with these similar items

Hahaha these ‘ITK’s’ saying it was a done and he’d signed and completed his medical. People parroting off others pretending to be read in.
Completing a medical (ie. undertaking all the tests) isn't the same as passing a medical

After reading that it isn't just dead it has been to the taxidermist.

This is probably what happened to knibbs, reading saw how much we spent on kelman and got greedy
  • The10 position now looking iffy. Berry is not match fit and Carey still a bit of an unknown quantity. From the games so far the one who looks most impressive in that position is Fullah, but he is so new to mens' football

I believe this is the case. Is this why Jones was saying don’t believe everything you read figures wise on what we have spent on players already?
  • Not sure what decision is to be made this evening?

Not sure what decision is to be made this evening?
Maybe they mean the final decision between Reading and the player about whether he will be available for them this weekend. And nothing actually to do with us.
