Rumour: ‘Plymouth Argyle are to battle Bolton Wanderers, Peterborough United and Charlton Athletic to the signing of Hertha Berlin midfielder Bradley Ibrahim’

Don’t know if this has already been posted was on a Plymouth site.
We don’t need actual rumours here.

Edit: sounds like a defensive midfielder. Would guess he’s a London boy having started out at QPR and then Woolwich Arsenal.

    Wiki:

…captained the Arsenal U18 side to the FA Youth Cup final in 2022-2023.

That was reported before we even got promoted so doubt that’s true especially as Ibrahim is a CDM which is our strongest midfield position

4 year deal for a bloke who will be nearly 33 by the end of that new contract.
Secured his future but not sure it’s a move up or even sideways.

What are people's thoughts on Orients Galbraith?
I thought he looked very assured and was one of the few bright sparks for them going forward. He also managed to keep Campbell relatively quiet which is no mean feat.
Swansea had a bid of £1 million rejected in January. But I believe they turned it down purely because it came so late in the window leaving them no time to get a replacement.

If he’s available for that sort of fee now we should be all over it. Cracking player and very versatile.

6 less months less on his contract and no chance of Championship football like there was when they rejected that bid. If there is any way we can get him for 1-1.5M arguably be my no.1 target

Talk that Liverpool are looking to sell Gomez for 25M this summer if we’re banking 2.5-5M on that sell on fee that can be huge in investing for this summer

Galbraith is available on a free now I believe. But for that reason, we won’t get near him sadly. Plenty bigger offers coming his way from the championship

Got absolutely no probs with having Doc as one of the options and definitely not someone I'd be looking to ship out , it's just about finding competition for him in there along with Anderson.

Would expect NJ to target a CM as a must sign.
Remember Conor Gallagher’s first game, and we were all oo-ing and ah-ing? One of the reasons why we didn’t look like a relegation team for a fair part of the season imsc.

Orient triggered the option on his contract so he isn’t a free agent

Nobody is talking about ripping up the team or dumping players, we're talking about improving the side. And you do that by bringing in new and better players, who will take the place of existing first team players, or at least significantly reduce their minutes. If we can't improve on the existing players, then why are we signing anyone?

Our best 11 from last season, Mannion, Edwards, Gillesphey, Jones, Ramsay, Small, Coventry, Docherty, Berry, Campbell, Godden won't keep us up in the Championship.
How many players did we bring in after Bowyer's Wembley triumph ? and yes I know we went down but we also lost Aribo and Dijksteel and lost Gallagher at Christmas. I can remember Tom Lockyer an Bonne coming in but little else. If Gallagher had stayed and Taylor hadn't pulled his stroke we may have stayed up, maybe.
100% we would have stayed up. Didn’t we just need one goal extra, or one extra point in those games when he wouldn’t play? And Conor made a huge difference, when he joined, and when he left. 100%.

We don’t really know what our upper level is under these owners. We might be in for a surprise.
    Goodnight everybody.

I think Blackpool will have a good season, best team at The Valley last season for me and finished the season pretty strongly. A couple more similar additions and they will do well.

Kwame Poku, Harvey Knibbs, Ethan Galbraith, Andre Garcia were 4 of the very best L1 players last year.  Don't know if we have a chance of any but all would be real top class signings for a Championship team imo.  Max Dean in Belgium is one I wanted from MKDons last season, I wonder if he will head back to the UK.

Poku no chance with his wage demands and interest. Andre Garcia is only 17 Reading would demand a fortune for him nowhere near what we can afford. Max Dean done his ACL so he wouldn’t even be fit for the start of the year also not great in the aspects of the games Jones likes. Galbraith and Knibbs are definitely good options which are obtainable considering they have 1 year left and would probably like the step up to championship just comes down to the fee both clubs are demanding

Orient apparently rate him at £4 million.

I doubt they're getting that for him with only a year left on contract.

So you don't believe Jones was telling the truth when he claimed our targets for the summer were ambitious and wouldn't change whatever division we landed up in then?  Applying his logic, if this guy was/is on our radar, our promotion means we're more likely to succeed in bringing him in.

The first 6 games were good , then injuries hit .  The early midfield of Pratley, Cullen, Gallagher and that very brief spell where Williams was absolute mustard looked championship quality and was better than what we have now .

I'm not getting my hopes up as it feels like there's been talk of this for about the last 4 years and Gomez always ends up staying.

Honestly with his injury record I can’t see him going for more than 15-20 million.

They can rate him at whatever price they want, but he’s in his final year that’s been triggered by the club and risk losing him for a development fee next summer

Oh for fk sake hurry up and give us a signing or at least a  NJ interview…

    …Last season’s been over for 9 days!

  • I know people have discussed him but Sean roughen seems perfect for the style we play, can cover/compete with Edwards and gillesphey

No he didn’t. Lewis Wing signed a new contract last week.
