Sounds to me that the club just didn't want another Chucks situation on their hands, especially as the deal fell apart after the medical.
    "Another Chuks situation"

Meanwhile here are their last 6 seasons side by side. Only 15,624 minutes of football for risk hazard Knibbs compared to Chuks 4864 minutes of football.

Not how medicals work 🥱🥱, a medical isnt looking just at previous injuries.
Exactly, I’m not sure how many more times it needs to be said either.

We don't know that's why its broken down. Prior to this, he was great, really good signing, suits Nathan Jones etc.

We don't agree terms, a couple of Reading fans say his knee has issues, all of a sudden he's being compared to Chuks and we might not need him etc.

When we sign a very obvious sick note it's "could be great if we manage his minutes (that no other club has ever managed), "great player when he can play"

When a genuinely good signing falls through, with a fantastic record of games and minutes played, but may have been playing with a knock like some of our other players did, "We can't take the risk, he may never play a game" "I am glad the club aren't mugging ourselves off" or whatever other way of coping mechanism.

Why can't people just accept the situation for what it is. He's a very good player, that's why our manager has been after him as a main target for months, and it falling through is a bit shit as he starts for us, and would improve us. Hopefully we can find someone equal or better.

97 games, 31 goals and 12 assists to now find for a similar fee won't be easy.

😂 no you’re comparing him to Aneke no one else, people are just putting theories out there that it could be a failed medical and that’s coming from Reading fans claiming he played through a knee injury.

Also the difference of signing a free agent or minimal fee player who’s injury prone is completely different to spending 1.8m-2m. ( not saying Knibbs is injury prone )

JRS to Rangers seems to be off. But before we get too excited, he limped off in a friendly the other day and Palarse have said no more outgoings till they get more in.

    Can we send them Ahadme?
He’d probably win the golden boot in the SPL!

I heard that during his running session up in Colchester he wax encouraged to run harder 'Come on Knibbs put some effort in for gods sake' and he loudly retorted 'You can shove your fake god up your arse Jonesy'.

    End of interest.

I think it would be harsh on Knibbs if he passed the medical but we pulled the deal just because we now favoured someone else. That would not be a good look in my eye. It might also come to bite us on the bum if this alternative player doesn't join us for some reason & we are left with egg on our faces.

Looks like the euphoria of the past couple of weeks is now levelling off & things are starting to look a bit iffy......

    • Godden & Berry have not played any pre-season matches and therefore wont be in the starting 11 anytime soon.

    • Lost our RWB and cant replace him for love nor money.

    • new CEO cant take up the post & so we have to start looking for a new one.
Sorry little late to this again.

    Shut up you melt

Bit of an overreaction from some people re the Knibbs situation imo. We will never know the reasons behind it if he doesn’t end up here but for various reasons you are never going to get all targets over the line. We have had a great window so far and I’m sure more to come we just have to have faith in the club.

Bring on Watford and 3 points !!

I was thinking more of palace TBH. Surely he can help them this coming season and provide that composure up front... ? Although wouldn't be adverse to Rangers picking him up either (or anyone else)😊

I know the club will never say what happened to the deal, but at the same time knowing that fans will be spitting feathers about it falling through, and without at least a post on the OS as to the reasons for that decision, the club know speculation will be the result....Catch 22...I'm afraid that we will never know the facts....🤷‍♂️

Must say I’m disappointed, only one person got the joke…😂😂
i was laughing so much I couldn't press lol button😡

This window went downhill when we didn’t get the Japanese fella lol
Went downhill, bit steep, we've had a great window and it ain't finished yet, Fukuda could still be on, but waiting on his contract to end, shame about Knibbs, but come on now, we're doing a whole lot better than a lot of us expected, me included...
FFS, it was a joke, the geezer even put “lol” at the end

Sheffield Wednesday have 15 days to pay him wages (doubtful I know) before he can leave. Good player but we don’t really need another LCB

Jamal Lowe is the striker. Max Lowe the LWB is leaving Wednesday. Will probably want a starting berth wherever he goes and has had a load of injuries.

Defo not a LCB, more of a striker/winger.

Why don’t we sign all of the players leaving sheff wed and then sell them the next day to Preston 😂

My bad, skim read OP and didn’t realise they had two Lowe’s and both wanting to/leaving

Lots of talk of a failed medical and I’ve seen Reading fans on Twitter saying he was wearing tape on his knee continuously from December for the remainder of the season.  Possibly because he was so important to them.
Not impossible to think he’s damaged his knee by doing that and something has shown up on the medical and given us second thoughts.

Just putting 2+2 together but they would explain why it suddenly went pear shaped and might also explain their manager comments about wanting to support him.

Not like us to let an injury stop us from signing someone, if anything it's almost like a seal of approval

Some saying he wanted a longer contract than we were offering too. Who knows.

Also didn’t realise people actually use the word ‘melt’. Thought I’d stepped into an episode of TOWIE. Wrong side of the river.

All of the signings we’ve paid money for this window have got 3 to 4 year contracts so don’t see that being an issue personally.
