Is it just me or has Ronnie been posting some fairly sensible comments lately?EugenesAxe said:
I read it as the decision is wether he’s going to be in the Reading side, as it also mentions what his mindset is now about playing, nothing to do with coming here that seems to be off now.RonnieMoore said:Let’s see what decision made tonight .. and hopefully have a clearer picture in the morning ?

Don't back down, mate. You are onto something. We sold our excellent RWB and still have not replaced him. Failed to get Offiah, Fukuda, and Knibbs, and decided not to appoint a new CEO. Lost two of our brightest youngsters to proper clubs before they had kicked a ball in anger for us. Lucky to scrape a draw with 4th tier Cambridge and got thrashed by Ipswich reserves.AndyG said:
Sorry mate it was meant in jest, of course we have had a fantastic window far beyond most people’s expectationseastterrace6168 said:
Went downhill, bit steep, we've had a great window and it ain't finished yet, Fukuda could still be on, but waiting on his contract to end, shame about Knibbs, but come on now, we're doing a whole lot better than a lot of us expected, me included...AndyG said:This window went downhill when we didn’t get the Japanese fella lol
You don't have to be Nostradamus to see where we are heading.25 -

Whilst the Knibbs situation is a bit disappointing it must be said that overall whoever is actually making the transfers happen has had an excellent summer. Outside of Knibbs and (maybe) Offiah, we've identified targets, got the deal done and moved on with quite un-Charlton like efficiency. Two falling through compared to 8 in is a very decent ratio.
I don't think anyone would say the squad is complete yet but barring something truly catastrophic we go into the first game with a genuine selection dilemma instead of the not so recent past of putting the most promising kids on the bench just to make up numbers.4 -

I trust the owners and player recruitment team. If they wanted to cancel the Knibbs deal, I’m sure it was the right decision for Charlton.32

Pretty sure @wolfgang was messing with that post.
Shame about the Knibbs news. Just hope we step up efforts to bring in Donley now. Makes 100% to bring him in, in light of how well he teamed up with Kelman last season.

We still have our main two in Apter and Kelman. Is what it is.1
 -
FWIW I think we pulled the plug on the Knibbs deal because someone else surprisingly became available and we decided to go down that route because it meant there would be a cost saving over the Knibbs deal and we could use that saving and spend it better elsewhere. Whether that turns out to be a good decision who knows but if we ended up being able to get, for instance, Fukada and Donley instead of Knibbs I think most of us would be happy with that.
I’m sure my source may well be the same as someone else I know but Penny was definitely ready and waiting to go so was definitely a last minute decision to pull out.

I trust the clubs judgement on this. The window overall has been exciting and I fully expect us to get two more in before the end of the window. I'm buzzing to see what these new players will bring to the side.2
