Haven't checked the dates but Michael Smith would of likely worked under Nathan here in 2012/2013? as others have said i'd like to see him come in, adds what we haven't got currently
Smith and Pigott scored the goals when we won 2-1 at Cardiff under Jones in the U21 final.
    well with that #WelcomeSmith

Seriously so many were disrespectful to Wrexham last year and still it carries on.

They were one of the best teams to play at the Valley last season. Lest we forget, they slaughtered us at theirs less than three months ago.

    Ignorant know alls.

Why does everyone keep talking about Keilor-Dunn like he has actually been linked? All it is is people on here saying they want us to sign him and it has spiraled

Think a Wrexham journo said he was close to joining us

My personal view - good player but not sure its all that wise - 27, never played above l1, big fee apparently required

Fair enough... kept seeing that a Wrexham journo had said it, but hadn't actually seen that link anywhere.

Could see Smith ending up at MK Dons, they're throwing money around and he gets to link up with Warne again.

Could see it as they’d probably offer him a multi-year deal where teams higher up will probably only offer 1 year

Smudge also scored 4 in the final of the Kent Senior Cup against Tonbridge...

But I don't think Jones saw it, as he was sent off in the semi final!

seen Wrexham Fans say that the Wrexham insider is complete rubbish might as well just  agree with any made up rumour on twitter at that point

What is this fixation with Wrexham this, Wrexham that? Is this not supposed to be Charlton Life?

I’d be signing a starting , young, hungry striker with resale value  , not someone of Smith’s age.

We have loads of young attacking players, TC and Miles are still learning their games.

Last season we have Chuks and Hylton as experienced options, that's what we don't have now.
  • The business we, no scrap that it’s not ‘we’ as in Charlton collectively in this case, credit where credit is due, the business that Nathan and certain people at the club have done has been pretty impressive, almost totally under the radar for what I think have been for quality players. However, seven signings on and the penny must be dropping in the wider football world that something has changed the Valley.

on that basis, I would have thought selling clubs and agents to have already started to raise their expectations of what Charlton can and will pay. Anybody else coming in therefore is going to have to be pretty special if we are going to sign them now.

From RCs podcast " Striker very much on the shopping list and another one expected through the door" , doesn't sound like Lewis Miller is one that there's any real interest in.

RC hasn't heard anything about DKD , extremely settled up north.

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating (yes, that is the correct saying).

But so far Jones is recruiting what seem like some experienced players, some he knows and some he has scouted as having the "right stuff" in terms of ability and attitude to be a Jones Charlton player.

He is also building on what was a solid squad that has a large dose of strong academy talent coming through.

I think next season will be hard and we will have to work for every point but we are "having a go".

If you can afford it and you haven't already buy a season ticket, it could be an exciting ride.
    I’m sure it’s not

Would fit the winger/striker role very nicely if you wanted someone that's more competition for TC and would allow for 343 if that's on the table as a realistic option formation wise. Would be cheaper than what Barnsley want for DKD too.

As bench and squad options to close out games.

Chuks was the physical battering ram, Hylton sh@thoused the opponents, we don't have that in the squad at the moment.

9 subs on the bench in the Championship

Going to be interesting to see the type of striker we go for, there could be a case for younger/experienced, pacey or a target man, someone more creative who can play wide or as as a 10 etc.
