Purrington signed while we were in Spain. Can’t se why he wouldn’t travel as soon as it’s done.SteveACS said:There'll no signings announced until they return from Slovenia...
Doesn't mean they haven't been done, just they won't be announced until the comms team are back.
saw a post this morning from Bromley of their new signing travelling to meet up at their training camp.
Absolutely no reason why they can’t announce him if it’s sorted3 -
Maybe he falls into Nathan’s no dick heads policyMarcusH26 said:
Sounds like he's got some fairly major attitude problems to address from what I've seen mentioned, undoubtedly a talent but it's if he can sort the rest of it.soapboxsam said:Swisdom said:
Irankunda could be absolutely mustard. I sent a very excited email to Charlie Methven about him a couple of years ago - when he was still relatively unknown in Australia but didn’t get a response. A couple of months later he joined Bayern. He’s got ridiculous pace and a cannon of a foot. £2.5m is an absolute steal considering what his potential is like.dmccart32 said:Looking at some of the deals floating around in the Championship is crazy!
Derby paying in excess of £7m on a forward from US...and Norwich sold one and potentially selling another for combined total of approx. £35m!
I think Watford's potential signing of Nestory Irankunda for £2.5m (50% sell-on fee!) is a great signing. Absolutely rapid tricky winger!
'Nestor' Irankunda definitely looked a talent in March last year when I thought he scored a hat trick for Adelaide united when I was watching A-League football.
He will need to sort out his short fuse which has seen him get yellow and red cards since he made his debut at the young age of 15.
If this is a transfer and not a loan I wonder why Bayern are letting him go at 19 especially since the fractured Fibula and dislocated ankle injury to Jamal Musiala against PSG in the recent world crap championship which will keep him out for a long time.0 -
Wasn't Kashi announced completely randomly on a Saturday morning during a training camp abroad???0

It's more so as well people thinking football players won't move for a big sign on fee, a significant increase in wages and to have a bigger contract playing at a higher level, just because they would need to travel an extra 2 hours to see family, its no amount of time in the grand scheme.eaststandmike said:
So he is not moving due to having a young kid and living near the family…….. however if we pay £5m all that goes away 😂Braziliance said:Another Barnsley content creator who is adamant we can't sign Keillor-Dunn 😂
Is it a unique thing to Barnsley where they tell their content creators how much a player is worth and the conditions that have to be met to sign him
If that doesn't appetise you as a professional footballer, then you're not going to be someone who goes very far anyway.
Not a dig at anyone in particular, just if we are talking hypotheticals.3 -

Hadnt really worn it much.

Welling match v Orient this evening has been switched to Ebsfleet.
Apparently Orient fans insisted it be moved as Welling was too close to Charlton and their vile fans.51 -
He doesn’t, just a wild guessDennisBooth said:

(Wouldn't want them to feel overshadowed or anything).0 -
Docherty signed for us last season whilst we were out in Slovenia. I see no reason why we can’t/won’t announce a player if and when the deal is completed.32

DKD a slightly different case but not every footballer is motivated by money. Some love football and want to play at the best level they can and some love their boyhood club and would reject moves away to play there as long as possible, some know the environment they're currently in will set them up better for life post retirement. Lots of footballers will chase the money but lots will also know that there's more to it than thatBraziliance said:

Think he signed just before and then did media duties out there. Weirdly the web page of him signing is private so I can't check!Sage said:Docherty signed for us last season whilst we were out in Slovenia. I see no reason why we can’t/won’t announce a player if and when the deal is completed.1 -
I would have thought that anywhere this side of the water would be considered tainted in vileness.bolloxbolder said:Welling match v Orient this evening has been switched to Ebsfleet.

Bizarrely newsnow and the club site are now showing the signing of Mandela Egbo....again,

the article was dated 2022.

My friend and ex Charlton Aesthetic worked for NewsNow as a coder and she definitely did some stuff that prioritised Charlton-related news, probably still in the systemgringo said:for some reason newsnow and the club site are showing the signing of Mandela Egbo

but newsnow have taken it from the official site. Perhaps we are updating the site for a new arrival and a cock up has occured, perhaps skeleton staff.0
-
If we play how we did last season pressing high, defending well & being hard to beat we have a chance of staying up, after Apter I do think our central midfield needs improvement, we need a couple of new central midfielders to compete with Doherty & Coventry, a right wing back, maybe another attacker and that should see us through to January0
-
This has happened quite a few times in the last couple of months, interestingly or not, Newsnow are now offering a premium service for cash, that's the end of that site then.gringo said:but newsnow have taken it from the official site. I agree. I believe it’s done, he’s out there training with them today and after training it’ll be announced.Yann897 said:

He won’t be spending his career at Barnsley so he’ll be moving eventually. None of the other Yorkshire clubs have taken an interest as far as I know and nor have the north west clubs. He’ll need another very very good season in League One to justify £5 million. I can actually see him staying put and moving on next summer but £5 million is a lot of mazuma. How sure is any club that a league one player is worth that amount. I wouldn’t want Charlton taking that gamble to be honest.fenaddick said:

Luton linked with Al-Hamadi. I’d be surprised if he dropped to League One personally.
I’d personally be excited by it if we swooped in but the precedent for signings, let alone striker signings, from Ipswich lately hasn’t been great at all.9 -
2 in 15 at champ level on loan at Stoke last season for AA-H. Good player but I think I'd leave that one to Luton.1
