So are you saying similar in style and temperament as John Robinson?Swisdom said:Going back to Apter I just watched his goals from his time at Tranmere.
He's really got the potential to be one of those who gets you off your seat. As direct and JBG - he gets the ball and his instinct is to bear down on goal.
And I love that he appears to be a bit of a cocky little shit too - not afraid to give it to the opposition fans. I have the equivalent of a Fanny Tingle I thinkTo grow into a role and become a fan’s favorite.Wonder if he will give the years and service Robinson gave Charlton?
Let’s hope so.1 -

Barnsley looking to loan forward Caylan Vickers from Brighton. Could it be replacement for DKD.13
-
Barnsley only have 3 forwards who actually play for them can’t see it being a replacement just more squad depthBeckboy said:Barnsley looking to loan forward Caylan Vickers from Brighton. Could it be replacement for DKD.0 -
Probably with a bit more skill in fairness. But yes he could have a Robbo persona and confidenceLewis Coaches said:

Haven't seen anything mentioned about him for a while but does anyone know what happened with Famewo? We were quite heavily linked and as far as i'm aware he hasn't signed anywhere else yet.0
-
We upgraded and signed Bell instead.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Haven't seen anything mentioned about him for a while but does anyone know what happened with Famewo? We were quite heavily linked and as far as i'm aware he hasn't signed anywhere else yet.4 -

There is a dinosaur soft play at Bluewater.Alwaysneil said:My son tells me his socials are suggesting the charlton shop at bluewater was shut this afternoon because apter was filming his signing promo there. No idea id true, guess we find out tomorrowCould see it working!11 -
DKD might be a bit of stretch now, unless Barnsley have really reduced the asking price0
-
Think it's always been a stretch tbh We've either got the money to buy players at that price or we haven't be interesting to see the fees if we do get another one or two in if their around the apter range or maybe slightly more,I'd say if it was dkd that would be it for signings that are not loans maybe but as ever they might surprise us.AberystwythAddick said:DKD might be a bit of stretch now, unless Barnsley have really reduced the asking price1 -
NJ is like Curbs he wants players that he knows, or that are hungry and will be grateful for the chance to play for us. At Saints and Stoke, the players didn't buy into his mania, they probably thought he wasn't good enough to behave like he does to them.36
-
Hope he doesn't hide their pack lunch or shut the canteen early in training : )0
-
I think this is absolutely on the money. NJ needs full buy in from everyone to make his methods work. I can easily see him being laughed out the room or " who does this guy think he is" by PL players.cfgs said:NJ is like Curbs he wants players that he knows, or that are hungry and will be grateful for the chance to play for us. NJ wants hungry players. I guess that's why Peter Garland was in the away kit photoshoot.12

Hopefully Apter turns out to be the real deal but you never know if mentally young players can handle the step up. Charlie Kirk was touted as a real talent & flopped so it’s a lot of money to pay for a gamble. This could either be an inspired signing or another flop but I guess they must be confident & see him as worth the gamble.Keeping my fingers crossed that he becomes a Charlton success story !0

Charlie Kirk was an extraordinarily low tempo , flimsy footballer . Apter looks the opposite . Good mantra though - you never know how any player will work out . Biggest positive so far is we haven’t signed anyone from IpswichWestStandPete said:Hopefully Apter turns out to be the real deal but you never know if mentally young players can handle the step up. Kirk just didn’t seem to want to be here he spent anytime he had on the pitch waving his arms and blaming others for his bad passes. That shows a bad attitude and one thing I think we can be sure of is we ain’t signing players with bad attitudes under NJ. Yes nobody knows how a transfer will work out but I’m sure the ones that don’t won’t be down to lack of effort0
-
As long as we can see he cares, needs to be given time to settle in. If NJ has thought he’s worth it that’s good enough for meWestStandPete said:Hopefully Apter turns out to be the real deal but you never know if mentally young players can handle the step up. Looking at some of the deals floating around in the Championship is crazy!
Derby paying in excess of £7m on a forward from US...and Norwich sold one and potentially selling another for combined total of approx. £35m!
I think Watford's potential signing of Nestory Irankunda for £2.5m (50% sell-on fee!) is a great signing. Absolutely rapid tricky winger!

Where is R Apter ??? Is he on Rylan Air ?0

That's a brilliant fit. But we'll no doubt end up with one of the "f**king dynamite" type of chants instead.superclive said:if we get aptor his song has to be velocaraptor by kasabian. it's a no brainer.

The fact that this managerial team managed to recruit a squad that gained promotion should give us greater hope, but all recruitment is a risk. Just look at Ahadme, they still got that one wrong, but the hit rate is so much higher now, I’m sure in part with decent coaching and tactical intelligence. The fact we talk about a NJ type of player tells me the manager sees mental toughness as an important factor as their technical skill. The exact opposite of what Kirk is, talented but flaky. Wasn’t he from the era of the ‘black box’ and Sandgaard’s son getting involved.WestStandPete said:Hopefully Apter turns out to be the real deal but you never know if mentally young players can handle the step up. Haven't looked at this thread for a couple of days - any expectation that 'Penny' is warming up for some action?0

The concern is that Apter will have other suitors and now the news of the transfer is out others may try to hijack it.6
-
Be chuffed if APTER signs, have a shirt with ARTER on it but part of the first R has fallen off.
Hadnt really worn it much.44 -
Sounds done tbh. The news outlets are always 24 hours behind reality. I would imagine he signed yesterday.MuttleyCAFC said:The concern is that Apter will have other suitors and now the news of the transfer is out others may try to hijack it.4
