  • I wanted us to get 12 points from our last 5 and we managed 13.

I think this next batch of 5:

    Posh (h) - Win (3)
    Brum (a) - Lose (0)
    Exeter (h) - Win (3)
    Orient (a) - Draw (1)
    Barnsley (h) - Draw (1)

I think 8 would be a decent return from a reasonably hard cluster of games. Hopefully knick a win at Orient or at home to Barnsley for 10
  • Posh will come to spoil and try and get at least a point. They’re as desperate for points as we are. I think we’ll huff and puff but these games are difficult and can go either way. It’ll be close.
Posh under Fergie Jnr aren't the sort of team who can go somewhere to scrap and frustrate, which is why they're in trouble.

No game is a gimme, but on their current form, they're much easier opponents than scrappers like Shrewsbury a couple of weeks ago.
  • Does the Sky coverage tonight and the Charlton TV coverage use the same stream? One is £10 the other £14.99 albeit with the other games too which is kinda pointless here.

Same camera work, different commentary. Plus you have to be abroad (wink wink nudge nudge) for the Charlton TV one

Do the club get more money with Charlton TV direct?
  • I'd love to think we'll give someone a proper spanking at some stage,  We could have scored four or five on Saturday with some better decision taking and really putting foot on the pedal.  Now that we have a settled line up, no injuries and Jones has finally by accident or by design abandoned hoofball, there is m-no reason why we can't stormtrooper into the playoffs.  No reason why that shouldn't be tonight.  I suspect it won't but if we repeat Saturday then we are still, somewhat miraculously, on course

Peterborough are a team that simply cannot defend properly - their young, inexperienced squad have been found out on multiple occasions this season. They have the worst defense in the league, conceding 55 and conceding, on average, nearly 2 per game. Away form, equally, is second-worst in the league. They are under pressure from both Burton and Shrewsbury, and are very much in the relegation dogfight. They can score goals (with goals scored putting them above many other teams, including us), but their naivety and inexperience at the back make them very vulnerable. It's something we will absolutely look to punish - we've broken down one of the best defenses in Stevenage on Saturday, so we should be able to score a couple minimum with the form we are in.

I've never really read too much into head-to-heads over the years, as this is an apples and oranges comparison. Some of our recent squads have been hot garbage and theirs have been strong promotion contenders. We're in excellent form and no-one in the league will want to play us now - aside from maybe Birmingham, who have an axe to grind after we beat them at home. All signs point to a comfortable home win, but games are won on the pitch and not on paper.

NJ will keep them grounded, hard-working and honest - and this is absolutely to his credit. At the end of the game on Saturday, body language in the walk round the pitch suggests we have an real collective team now, and not just a squad. They are really starting to believe and, barring any stupidity, it should be a relatively comfortable clean sheet win. Main risk comes from a mistake, but if we score first, we should take this at a canter.

Concentrate on winning these types of games, and playoffs are completely in our hands. My regret for booking a May holiday is growing with every game!
So, this means that Posh will have a clean sheet then???

Yes, any other money goes to Sky who are already paying the club

"The Addicks host Peterborough United on Tuesday night and fans outside of the UK and Ireland can watch all of the action live on CharltonTV (KO 7.45pm GMT)"...

    VPN required unfortunately...

Posh are without their leading scorer tonight, it will make no difference, we will get another 3 points, going for a clear 3-0...👍

It's probably just down to wording, but the expectation that we WILL win is making me edgy now!

Fair enough, I don't use Charlton TV anymore.
  • The posh have had some horrendous results of late. Lost 5-1 to Lincoln and 3-1 to Bristol Rovers. Ferguson can’t find a settled team. What’s the betting he comes and parks the bus. Think we’ll need an early goal and if we get that goal, we’ll go on to win handsomely. If not, it might be a struggle.

  • We must be getting close to the point where the crowd numbers and atmosphere step up to promotion chasing mode.Tomorrow night under the lights seems like a good time for it to happen.
I'm not expecting a big crowd. Miserable winter weather, and City vs Madrid in the Champions League is a tempting alternative for many.
You are of course joking City v Madrid.

Imagine being in the meeting when they decided Edun was the answer to their defensive frailties....

Is it too early yet to become an optimist?
You’re too late to be one of those. You needed to be an optimist two months ago when catching up with the teams in the play off spots was so far out of reach, particularly given the poor charlton results we were seeing. Now we’re in the game on stage and you don’t need to be an optimist, you just need to get behind the team and let them get on with what they have been doing, ie winning and improving game by game.
While I agree we should always back the team - 22 years as a season ticket holder tells me nothing will ever be smooth sailing.

I appreciate that 22 years only qualifies me as an inexperience newcomer in these circles.
  • Hopefully we can continue Peterborough's dreadful current run of lost 9 and drawn 1 in last 10 away games. Our head to head is not  great, so about time we took the full 3 points against them.

I was never that much use...
  • Why is it we just cannot beat this lot? Really despise them and their arrogant chairman. Relegation would be interesting but their team seems to be too good to go down. They remind me of our team in most recent seasons, under achieving. They can pop up with yet another result, 1-0 to the Posh.

Why? I hate City. Built on oil money. Maybe watch them hoping they lose I guess.
  • Crawley at home has taught me not to get complacent with Charlton.

However, I really hope we can get a win tonight, a clean sheet would also be an added bonus.
The team was still in its weekly mix and match phase when we played them that day and had the weaknesses that come with that approach:

6 of that starting line up could not get into our first 11 now, and 4 of the subs
