    Kent 380-6. Lead 271. D B-D 176* Richards 17* Benjamin b Higgins 34 was the 6th wicket to fall.

Have Kent batted well or are the conditions a lot easier than they were? If so we need still more runs. A target of 350 minimum.

Richards out for 43. Fair play to him, that’s a great innings considering how he faired earlier in the match

431/8. Parkinson out for 4 but I don’t think he hit that

With our dismal first innings record, why do we keep batting first? It's not as if Lord's on the final day is an Indian dust bowl, and instead we collapse on the first morning before the pitch settles down.

Can’t follow on if we bat first

Great Captain's innings by D B-D to give us some sort of chance. Middlesex 81-3 at the Close requiring another 284 to win tomorrow.

    Come on you Kent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know as a county cricket climub we're broke and most of our appointments seem to come from Poundland but surely there's someone there who could say:

"Do you know what, boys? If you bat like that in the first innings we get extra points; doing it in the second dig only gets us bugger all. Have a think about it, see if it makes sense. If it does ... then chuffin' well do it next match!!"

Easy to say but we look a lot more purposeful this season, even allowing for the lower division.  Quite brilliant innings by DBD- he needed that.  Hopefully we can do it today - would be some achievement with that attack.

Eskinazi, having pulled up lame taking a run, has had to retire hurt.

139-3 and 225 behind with minimum of 72 overs remaining

Off for an early lunch due to rain in the air. Middx require 219 off 70.5 overs with the score on 146-3

Thought the conditions would have been favourable to our bowlers, clearly not.

A combination of fortune and brilliance. Hollman smashed the ball back, Parkinson cleverly deflected the ball onto the stumps and Higgins without waiting for the umpire to give a decision even though the official was in no position to do so.

With Eskinazi a major doubt to return, we might need to take just 5 wickets in a minimum of 59 overs.
