If we are to improve we need to get players in who are specialists in one position not sign players because they can fill in in several different roles.
Curbs used versatility to great effect. As a third teir team we don’t have the luxury of specialists in every position with adequate cover.
So here on this thread we are completely devoid of any new rumours about ins and outs at Charlton. And purely by coincidence, so is Mr Pete O'Rourke.
Love the idea you have the Pete O'Rourke spends his days on the rumours threads of forums for all 92 EFL & PL clubs so that he can tweet out the stuff he read

But you have no idea how "active" we are and neither do I.
A lot of people will have legitimate reasons to disagree with me, but I am a big fan of promoting our academy products first and foremost when developing the first team. To that end strangers that are brought in had better be much better, otherwise it’s money down the drain.
I agree its great to see but over recent years they have been pushed too fast too soon and SMT have spoken way too highly about the impact they was having or expecting to make we will not get promoted with academy players and thats just a fact
until the owners/recruitment actually spend good money and wisely we wont go anywhere

I'd argue they stopped earlier. TS era was a lot less leaky than ESI (obviously!) but also than certain points under the Belgian

Me too - but it is better for the side that they are brought in, in small numbers, to a settled side with a pattern of play they are used to. As opposed to the panic model that has applied for the past few years.

Yes he took a while to get confirmed and was seen watching a match at least a week before he was announced. Rumour at the time was an issue with injury (knee?)

Depends on what he heard and who from - we don't need Clucas nor do I genuinely think we were ever interested but it's quite possible his agent has been ringing around trying his chances and we were one of the clubs in question.
A purely hypothetical situation I grant you but doesn't seem vanishingly unlikely and thus the line about "contact has been made" or similar is a very journalistic interpretation but not a complete fabrication...

I'm only really expecting something like 2 in and 3 out (Inc Asiimwes loan) just don't want us to leave it until Deadline Day and get caught out.
