Yeah I am baffled by Campbell and Hylton ahead of Taylor and Kanu. Neither should be getting into the current winning team but should be on the bench. Pretty sure Taylor will leave in Jan. Kanu maybe loaned out if Chuks is back. That's a big if and risky in view of how fragile he is.PhilFor54 said:Taylor should at least be on the bench. Very good player. Taylor is technically good but like Asimwe, has a slightly laborious style of play. I don’t think it fits NJ’s preference.2

Surely Potts, Hylton and Campbell will be released to streamline the squad. If we are seriously building a team to challenge then we need to keep our best players. I would prefer to keep Taylor but as others say, he is not a NJ type player so will move on.3

Kanu offers something different from our other striking options, we really don't need Hylton AND Ahadme on the bench.5 -

GK, LCB in (probably Potts resigned until the end of the season)
Dont see Jones suddenly bringing in a bunch of wingers and playmakers, the key starters arent easy to upgrade and we're seeing out games with the likes of Anderson, Campbell and Ahadme/ Hlyton coming on to chase and make a nuisance of themselves.0 -
We need another defender like Sonny Bradley as Lloyd will no doubt get injured at some point.3

If, and I'm not in the know, the SMT sell L Jones
then I can see attendances falling off yet again, not that they haven't already, but 3 wins on the spin I would think will bring some fans back.
My concern is CM will look to raise funds to show the US owners he can get money into the club. We all know how much better we've been with Jones back in defence, if he goes we don't have a suitable replacement!
I'll be glad if come February Jones is still here along with Miles, and we've bought/loaned an attacking midfielder.

I really like Kanu and think he is a great option off the bench or even starting. His performance against Birmingham is one of the best from anyone all season. That being said, Jones keeps favouring Hylton over him so it's probably worth him going out on loan to League Two, getting the goals and coming back nice and confident.5

This is where I hope Gavin Carters appointment comes into play. He’ll know that selling Jones and let’s not forget it won’t be for millions, will be a false economy. We have a handful of players that you can start to build a good team around and Lloyd Jones is probably about as important as any of that small group. If, god forbid Jones is sold I think fans including me will virtually give up. We found a gem in Alfie May and then sold him. If there’s ambition to get out of this shitty division you can’t keep doing that sort of business. Fair enough, if a player goes for millions. That’s a reality of football outside the PL but a modest fee for Jones would need at least in part need to be reinvested so it’s crazy to think of selling. Well yes but only as long as Jones stays fit. Someone in the Bradley mould, another experienced CB who can back him up and lead in his absence would definitely be a bonus.Oh Eddie Youds... said:

There's no way I'd loan Kanu out. If Leaburn did get an injury he'd be the ideal replacement. Also, he's the ideal substitute to bring on when defenders are tiring. He runs them ragged and he can finish too.

Random this and might end up being absolutely nothing (standard rumour then) - someone I know is fairly well acquainted with Adam Mayor, who signed for Millwall from Morecambe in January, but hasn't really played for them since owing to a couple of players in good nick, and some unfortunately-timed injuries (nothing major). Apparently he just wants to be playing and so he's on our radar. I'm guessing it would be a loan deal as he's 19 and on a long deal at Millwall, and this obviously is also incumbent on what new man in charge Alex Neil might want to do as well.
Four appearances and 50 minutes of football for Millwall is obviously not super encouraging but hey. It's what I heard. God knows how true it is.17 -

Not heard of him, looked him up in FM - he's a left winger who can also play LB/LWB, RW, up front or as a 10. Any idea if it could be a loan or permanent? He's only 20 so he'd be another young player. Wonder if he'd also be an alternative to Small at RWB.0 -
I think the view of Lloyd & Thierry being sold, would be about CM looking for cash / lack of ambition a little unfair. Neither player is going to sign a new contract unless we’re promoted this season.Lloyd is 29, he has one good contract left, he’s getting interest from teams firmly in the promotion race in league one and the championship.Thierry won’t sign for us in league one, the only reason he’s here this year is because we exercised the 1 year option and his agent couldn’t manufacture a role elsewhere.3

Then make our offer to Jones at least as good as what he’s being offered elsewhere. He’s a key player and whatever fee we receive would need to be spent to adequately replace him. It’s not incoming money if you need to spend it to replace. We know he’s good enough and if we have ambition we need to keep him. Would be different if the offers were for millions but they’re not. As for Thierry Small. If he wants out then I doubt we can prevent that but what is he ? 20. If he moves on again it will be his sixth club. I don’t think Leaburn or Jones will be sold this window - I think we’ll offload as many non contributors as we can and if we add 2 or 3 in the places we all seem to agree on, we can have a real crack at the playoffs - if we get it right, our competition is nothing to fear9

The time, energy AND money required to replace him adequately ( if that was possible) versus keeping a special player happy with a good contract ...I know what I'd suggest is the better option.
And I'd venture to suggest a similar proposal for TS as a young player who could blossom further to our advantage.2 -
