  • Three assists and one goal in his last three appearances.

10 “goal involvements” (goals and assists) in 16 appearances so far this season. 25 g+a in 46 appearances last season.

He tends to play slightly right of centre which would dove tail well with Leaburn and TC as an alternative to Luke Berry.
To add to that, he averages over 80 touches per game, completes over 80% of his passes in the opposition half, averages 2.4 key passes per game and has created 12 big chances in his 16 league appearances.
  • Swansea have made a bid for Joe Low which could mean another bid for Jones from Wycombe
  • Scores a lot of headers for a CM.... A bit like the last midfielder we signed from Notts County :)

His stats are ridiculous, it's clear he's the best 'maestro' type midfielder, and he's been for probably 2 seasons now.

Can he make the step up to league1 though? I'd like us to take the risk and find out.

He has Championship, L1 and Eredivisie experience, so it’s not as if it’d be completely new to him. At 27 he should be approaching his peak. Probably less of a gamble than a PL youngster on loan, and I’m not sure another midfielder on their way down is the answer for that role - we need a first choice rather than someone only here to challenge Berry for his place.

Rated as Notts County’s best player in FM too 👀

Feels like a Collins type rumour, heavily linked before he signs for someone else because he was too expensive
I know, it’s the name of the game, but I hate getting our hopes up for a player, when all it means is we’re being used by their agent to get a move, I keep falling for it, rather  than reading between the lines.

I had a ramble about it on the Charlton podcast, Charlton Chronicles, the one thing I don't want to see is us signing championship players. Unless it's a loan who is hungry to break into the team to be acknowledged by his parent club.

Whenever we sign these championship rejects, they usually fail to deliver. All our best business in league1 recently, has mainly been picking up standout players for a cheap fee from clubs around us or below.

Alfie May, CBT, the snake, Lloyd Jones, Ricky Holmes, Dobson.

I don't know what these scouts and recruitment specialists are paid to do, but I question their experience and football knowledge. Cause if we have one of the highest budgets in the league, and we can't identify the best players in this league then we have some serious issues.

Far too much cash splunked on has beens and players who don't have the character to play for this club.
And yet signing Championship rejects seems to be Andy Scott’s only strategy, leading to two of the most disappointing seasons in our recent history.
Scott does not chose the players we sign thars 100% down to Jones now
Utter rubbish. If you’re right this SMT have offloaded all accountability onto Jones. That is extremely weak leadership and smacks of self preservation above success of the club. That is so damaging, taking big salaries but having no accountability. Shameful!
Sorry but I am with Ronnie on this one. A couple of reasons, the sale of Alfie May, are you now saying Southlincs that the sale of Alfie May was the responsibility of Andy Scott, because if you are then there are about a thousand posts on here that would disagree with that stand point. Have a look at the players brought in by Jones, Ramsay and Small being the first two, then Allan Campbell, Luke Berry and lastly Danny Hylton, all of those players played for Nathan Jones at other clubs, he's also brought coaching staff in who have worked with him before. So it's 1-0 to Ronnie on this one.
Blimey, are you really swallowing that Charlie PR spin. As soon as it looks as if it’s going wrong, then they blame everyone else (well, mostly NJ). Otherwise Scott is being paid a big fat salary to do nothing. Ahadme has all the hallmarks of a Scott disaster signing.

I thought Low was impressive today.

Crowley had an excellent game when Brum beat us in the Championship at The Valley - Bellingham's first senior goal.

But yeah Cheltenham, Morecambe and Notts County since, what went wrong?

Attitude and application. Clearly likes being a big fish in a small pond
  • I noticed a few players on loan at L1 clubs are being recallied by their parent clubs. Aaron Morley, who has been one of Wycombe's best players is set to return to Bolton. He has two years left on his contract and Bolton will want a fair wedge, so win/win for Boton.

Another one i noticed and more worrying for Stockport is Louie Barry going back to Villa. He'll have a Championship loan lined up.
  • Really like the look of Crowley.
Definitely Berry competition, which is exactly what we need. Gets in other teams faces and for a little bloke, scores an extraordinary amount of headers.

Notts County also have a thread up on their forum about Crowley, and the general view seems to be they think he's worth between 100-250k.

If that really is his value, seems like it would be worth the risk. Of course it's just guesswork, and not my money.

It is interesting that we have had a Charlton fan say his Notts mate said he heard a rumour, a twitter rumour pops up, and now we hear of Edun at a Notts game watching.
Contract expiring in the summer, that explains that valuation.

These are the sort of deals I imagine we’ll look out for, as I can’t see us paying big money for anyone. I doubt we paid a big up front fee for Adhadme, and we know we haven’t for anyone else.
    I'd consider £870k a big fee
not to go over old ground but highly doubt we paid that up front & guaranteed

Oh gawd, I hope not.  If so, the bloke who signed that off needs binning.
  • Edun to Notts County would be an interesting one. Jodi Jones is their main LWB and have Nick Tsaroulla they signed from Crawley in the summer as cover so maybe they see him as a midfielder too?

Jodi Jones is currently out injured I believe.

You was told when Jones joined he wanted the title of manager not head coach... He wanted full say who joined and who left the club..... He is in charge of recruitment the players we sign and the players we release or sell.….. Scott and Rodwell do the talking to the player agent and club concerning transfer fee, contracts, agent fees and signing on fees, bonuses etc
