we’re on our way, we’re on our way
to (lower) mid table mediocrity, we’re on our way..

I’d like to see the red card challenge back, because from where I was it looked late but difficult to see if it was high/dangerous

Definitely put us on the back foot but… our defending was shocking all game.

This time last season I was seriously worried about going down.  Today I wasn’t until I got to the ground and the game kicked off.  Once again we are on a tipping point

At least supporting Charlton isn’t boring 🙄
We have less points at this stage than we did last season
  • Luckily didn’t go to the game. What exactly
is REG doing for their first goal? Right on his man and doesn’t even move.
  • Just another Saturday. First half was mostly awful saved by moment of magic from Leaburn. Second half we started brightly but faded a little which was unsurprising as we were down to ten men (thanks Doch) but we created chances to draw and even win, but spurned them, and with a last second free kick, created one of the most pathetic routines ever.
There is no creativity in the middle, and the rest is pretty meh. Burton will be a gas!

Just watched the post match interview with NJ a second time, and it struck me he was quite subdued, was it  because he know his time is running out or he's fed up with getting into trouble with the powers that be?
Well with your user name if you can't work out whether he is fed up or not  there's not much hope for the rest of us ! :-)
  • Surely we have to recruit a decent manager eventually- even if it's by accident? Even if Jones goes the squad he's left is full of some very poor signings

He's been a bit subdued for a few weeks now, either isn't letting the heat get to him or doesn't give a shite anymore, you be the judge

    Where was Terry Taylor?
In the squad yesterday but not on the bench

    P.S.
I am unimpressed by Nathan Jones getting bookings on the sidelines.
Did he get another yesterday? (i only saw the second half on a dodgy stream with no sound)

There's the problem, right there. This is why the Sky money will never filter down

    Yep, another booking...

Or, he's fed up with players not doing what he's asked them to....I.e the basics when defending set-pieces! I'm also convinced that he didn't get some of the players he wanted during the summer, 2 quality keepers as an example! AMB and Mannion don't fill me with confidence although the latter is better than the former!
Perhaps Potts, A. Campbell, Hylton and Berry were make-do's. It'll be interesting to see if he sends them back/out in Jan.

I think he really wanted Berry but the rest i agree with and dont think much extra money has been put in for transfers by the owners whatever CM says
  • Only caught the second half as away, but thought that second half illustrated how poor both we and Huddersfield are atm. I do not expect them to be in the shake up and if we do not resolve the imbalances and shortcomings within our squad early January, we are are destined for another season in this sh*t hole of a league.

Will NJ recognise our lack of creativity, that one or two of his past players are not going to make a difference at this level even if they served him well in the past and how quickly will a few of our injured players return? Getting those questions right and with a bit more luck on the injury front should help us improve.

As others have said, the loss for a few weeks now of Lloyd, Kayne and I think the different dimension of Chuks off the bench have made us very mediocre at best for now.

I would leave Jones as-is but this window is a bigger one than I had expected for the reasons above and if results nor performances improve, the rest decides for itself.

  • Has anything been mentioned where Taylor was ? Is he injured or just left out ? If it’s the second option that takes some explaining!!!
  • An enjoyable day out spoiled by the football and having to spend £70 on an Uber to York as the trains were cancelled

The hoofball is appalling, we looked better with 10 as playing Docherty is like playing with 10 and we should have probably nicked a point with the headers but we didn’t

    Nice to meet @BlackburnCharlton 👍

I'm not sure if I'm correct in thinking Challinor declined an interview with us before Holden was appointed.
If correct, others have told him what s*** is going on with us and is better off at Stockport.  No disrespect to Stockport but this is not good if my understanding is correct.

Funny, not you personally Seth, but just adding to your post, I rather like Jones and the way he acts on the touchline, the passion and intensity he shows does sometimes boil over, and if you have a silly ref, like we have had in the last couple of games, then he leaves himself open to bookings...
Thing is, would rather him than the motionless Appleton, with his hands in his pockets looking uninterested totally...🤷‍♂️
Jones has passion, that has to be a good thing.
  • Stop hoofing the ball long, give it away less. Job done for you there Nath. Gillesphey's pass completion must be very low, slightly improved by Leaburn getting his head on most balls forward.
