Will Mannion, decent L1 but not better Kayne Ramsey, see LJ Luke Berry, good goals but lightweight REG utility not 1st XI Josh Edwards decent defender suffers from nosebleeds Lloyd Jones, perhaps best signing Alex Mitchell, solid Matty Godden, decent but downgrade on May Gassan Ahadme, slow and ineffective Greg Docherty, woeful Alan Campbell, as above Dan Potts, invisible Kaheim Dixon, one for the future Dan Hylton, fat pub player
That is 14 players LJ has bought and I doubt more than 3 or 4 would be shoe-ins for a promotion chasing team. Added to the unexpansive play, things need to change.
After 13 games in the Bowyer promotion season we were on 21 points, we currently have 19.
We started slowly that season because we couldn’t even name a full bench for most of August
Bielik, Aribo and Dijksteel improved as the season went on too. We shouldn’t completely write off the chances of some of our current young players doing the same.
The problem this year isn’t his tactics or playing style. The biggest problem this year is Jones recruitment strategy - too much reliance on ex championship experienced players who are on the decline or on our youth. Not enough focus on players who are proven at this level but are in the prime of their careers

Which is what most fans wanted I should imagine. Acquire the best current players in your league.
Birmingham are the standout team, little between the rest, we’re within touching distance of the playoffs and have room for improvement. Crucial couple of months ahead as we need to get to Jan within touching distance or better. Adding a couple of quality players in Jan will make all the difference. The foundation is there.
