NJ (Nut Job !!) Will be fuming after that cave in. Not an easy place to pick up points but we only needed to hang on for 2 mins. Obviously it would have been a smash and grab but surely at some point it can go our way ffs ......
Some people will call that a hard fought draw, even say that we were unlucky not to win. The truth of the matter is that we were bloody lucky. We were second-best all over the pitch pretty much the whole match. Another long range shot spilled by Mannion gave them a lead. We barely won any first or second ball challenges in midfield. We looked powder puff in attack.
Huge credit to Luke Berry for taking his chances so well to get us the point but I think it seems clear now that it is the results against Bolton and Birmingham that are the anomalous ones. It’s not too late to turn that around but we still look far from a promotion or play off challenging team.
Absolutely appalling for 70 mins. Defensively we were an absolute shambles tonight. Mitchell was ok but Edwards, REG and especially Gillesphey were shockingly bad.
We have to start Berry ahead of Anderson after that. On general the midfield was poor. How on earth did Alan Campbell stay on for the whole game? He has had one good game (Birmingham) and regressed back to looking like an elephant in quicksand.
Leaburn getting 70mins is a bonus, but not much else was positive.
Pray that Ramsey isn't as bad as it looks and that Jones is back asap.
TBF Watson looked far better than REG so if Ramsey is out I think he has to come in.
I don't think Barnsley deserved to lose that game but we look vulnerable at the back, nobody winning headers or challenges from their corners. It's disappointing to lose the victory so late in the game but until Jones made the second substitutions we didn't look a threat. Can I make a suggestion ? if Jones doesn't want to play Potts, then play Edwards in Gilliphrey's position and play Small on the right. Overall I would have taken a point before the game and for seventy mins that looked a long shot, we got it at a club who will be there or there abouts, that's a good point.
I find it quite something when Thierry Small is shouting at the fans to make noise when we win a corner when his team mates can't be arsed to close down shots or hit a pass to another team mate , but like his boss let's have a.go at the fans, it's their fault.
Sorry that game has peed me off , we looked like we'd never played together. Alan Campbell must have something on Nathan Jones cos he is.awful.and still gets picked.
We are never getting out of this God forsaken league
Think Gillesphey Anderson and Edwards need dropping after that. Berry showed his quality today but I think even a draw flatters us. Didn't look as up for it as Saturday. Why do we start playing well at the end of the game every time?
What is depressing me is the quality of our football or rather the lack of it. You can see our attacks petering out whereas Barnsley were able to build attacks. I don't know what game some were watching if they thought A Campbell had a good one. He was putting himself about and winning tackles against Birmingham and jogging about half heartedly for most of this game. He picked up slightly at the end but it was noticeable. The first goal was criminal. Taylor had the player who shot on the left, Campbell had to cover the area to the shooter's right. Instead he steps to his right and leaves a space to shoot.
The ball feels like a hot potato to us and quite frankly the players we have should be better.
Generally poor performance, lit up only by two brilliant finishes from Berry. It's usually us bemoaning ex-players scoring, but this time it's Barnsley with that dubious honour. Only, Charlton being Charlton, we gave them back a goal anyway. I feel that I should be pleased that we got a point that we didn't fully deserve. Instead, I'm fuming that even when we seem to get a spot of luck we conspire to shoot ourselves in the foot. Roll on Saturday, at least if it's like that Mr Goldbridge will have some material to work with.
Really bad performance from so many players tonight. Defence reverted back to looking panicky everytime they attacked. Gillespie just not good enough and nor is Anderson
Annoyed about the last minute concession obviously but I'm more concerned about the rest of the game.
Sat there watching us do... nothing... for most of the game, I have no idea what the plan even was. Just such a desperate lack of quality or ability to play two passes together.
I am generally an optimist but finding it increasingly hard to convince myself we will make the play offs playing like this.
PS not that I think he's great, but what's happened to ahadme?
Let's be clear - for a lot of this game we were embarrassingly bad. We should have been 3 or 4 down before Berry scored his first.
There was no shape for much of the game and frankly it was just a mess.
Those who keep parrot fashioning "in Jones we trust" really must be looking at things through rose colour glasses. Strange selections, stranger substitutions and overseeing a disjointed, awful performance doesn’t convince me he should be trusted.
Almost managed to steal what would have been a thoroughly undeserved win, so obviously gutted but in reality that was a thoroughly undeserved point so I guess we should be happy.
Dire first half, modest improvement in the second half but still should have been 2 or 3 down and out, and the greater attacking danger we did manage to muster in the second half was all incredibly disjointed, ugly and pretty clueless.
Don't let that disguise the reality, which was that's 12 games now, with only 1 decent performance in there.
I've said it before, but I struggle to understand a manager who thinks he can get promoted without trying to win games... and nobody can tell me that a side who haved scored 1 goal in 12 first halves are going out trying to take matches by the scruff of the neck and win them
if you get lucky and win more coin tosses than you lose then you never know; that's our only chance of being anywhere near promotion
I really hope Jones does not come out with the usual “This is a hard place to come and it was a hard earned point”. That was horrible to watch. So much huff and puff from us with no quality anywhere on the pitch apart from 2 well taken goals.
As seen in most games this season Jones puts so much focus on hard work and organisation, but it’s come at the cost of possession and attacking play. We’re too reliant on having moments like Berry’s goals, problem tonight was that plan to defend well didn’t work, Barnsley had plenty of chances and would have deserved to win.
With Lloyd Jones out do we give Zach Mitchell a chance on Saturday? REG, Gillesphey and Potts were all signed as CBs for a back 3, we don’t have enough CBs that are properly comfortable in a back 4.
Leaburn’s obviously a lot better than Ahadme, but as said after so many games this season what chance does he have with the football we play?
Even with the 4-2-2-2 box midfield we play two CMs in Anderson and A Campbell who are meant to run and press over pass, move and create. Where’s the attacking threat? Where’s the width when TC doesn’t play? Even when he does it doesn’t lead to goals and assists.
We’re still in touch of the top 6 but if we don’t improve soon that gap will only get bigger.
It’ll be argued you can’t turn around everything in one window, but this is L1, we have one of the bugger budgets and using it slightly differently to add a good attacking midfielder or two instead of signings like Campbell and Potts might have made a huge difference. Berry being able to nick a few goals isn’t enough.
This would be good to watch if we were effective and winning games, but even our pressing and defending isn’t that impressive. Admittedly we’re missing Ramsay and Jones, but with a more balanced squad we might have controlled possession more and scored a few first half goals which could have changed games in our favour.
Can we improve soon before this becomes another season that takes us nowhere? It’s too early to write us off, but at the moment I don’t have confidence we’ll see that improvement.
The ridiculous thing is that at 90+3 we were 5th in this hellhole league
Subs made a difference tonight, Berry is our only central midfielder remotely capable at this level and whether he persists with some of those he keeps picking or not I’m afraid to say Dobson will tear us a new one on Saturday, people genuinely believe Coventry was a better option 😂

Whilst its true Jones has only had one window we need some better quality.
I never realised it was 1 win in 6 which makes tonight even more annoying.
Mid table all night long at this rate.

Better when Anderson went off and when Berry eventually came on.
I blame the yellow kit...🙄
