Me too. Even when I am watching highlights of games I know we've won.addick19 said:

I don’t get the Wrexham love in . They have a good record at home sure but their squad is ageing .Three ex Addicks , two who didn’t particularly impress while with us . I’ve seen them twice on the box this season and their best player by far has been their keeper Arthur Okonkwo.addick19 said:
Seriously? Check the table, it doesn't lie. We've played well in two games so far this season plus we'll be without Jones and Ramsey.Solidgone said:I can hear it already…
”Youre only here to see the Wrexham”
It’s only Wrexham FFS!If we don’t beat them I’ll certainly be a bit miffed. 🤓Their attacking players in Fletcher , McClean , Lee , Palmer and Mullin have a combined age of 163.I expect us to win .17 -

My wife reminded me of a game she came to with me (a rare event) when we played Wrexham and they had 6 (six) fans in the Jimmy Seed stand.8 -
If ever there was a game when we can sing ‘where were you when you were shit’ this might be it10

The more & more this gets hyped the more embarrassed we will be at 5pm on Saturday.
Charlton & banana skins since 1905.13 -
There’s about 10,000 fans in the low end that will need to answer that question too!Southendaddick said:If ever there was a game when we can sing ‘where were you when you were shit’ this might be it0 -
Imagine the meltdown some you snowflakes are going to have when you get to the ground and a youtuber has sat next to you and put up a tri-pod in your seat instead.17

I am somebody that has no issues at all with the rise of Wrexham.
It’s not as if those very rich American actors started at the glam end of football (I was told Hartlepool turned them down!), they found a distressed yet worthy and credible club and have helped them no end, including canny media involvement leaning in to a space they know well.
They have improved the stadium and brought excitement to their community and success on the pitch, good luck to them I say, except Saturday.
I like the Valley to have a big crowd so that is good, the bittersweet thing is seeing Dobbo not playing for us, the un relatable thing is the bit about the computer bloke being involved, but people assure me it is the new fashion.15 -

Are they our supporters though? I'd like to know what regulars have heard from friends or family or those with an affilation to charlton of their genuine interest in coming for this specific game? Seems to me like the majority of this 10k extra crowd will be there for some disney franchised nonsense of a football club. If any of them lifted there head up from there tv and looked at a map they would see there's dozens of clubs in London all going through the same roller coaster of emotions that come with following a local football club. A huge difference to when we packed the valley out for doncaster in the play offs, with everyone knowing the importance and magnitude of the occasion and what it meant to the club and its genuine fansCharlton fans: Our supporters are rubbish, never show up anymore

who knows, maybe them coming to the game might make them pay more attention to us! If even 10% of them come back that’s an extra 1,000 fans (being slightly loose with the definition there), how is that a bad thing?DrugAddicks said:TheHerminator said:

Does it matter if 500-1000 of them love the experience and come back?DrugAddicks said:TheHerminator said:

You're allowed to come and watch Charlton without having a previous affiliation with the club.
I really don't understand this "where were you when" attitude some people have. We have to build new fanbases out of new generations and this is the modern way.
Or we could just stick with the same core of 10-12k for the rest of time.
Will you complain too if we go up and our crowds improve then?15 -
I wholehearedly agree with your general point, but surely the "where were you when" chant is banter aimed at the opposition fans rather than any put-down of our own fans or club recruitment efforts?TheHerminator said:

Yea I'm more poking at the people who don't like new fans at away games. I seem to remember quite a few complaining about the new comers at the Reading away game and that they'd rather it was just 500 'hardcore'. Which I happen to think is pathetic.Six-a-bag-of-nuts said:

Some people have got so used to us being shite and having a small following, that they're scared of their identity being diluted if we do grow in numbers3 -

Couldn't agree more. Bums on seats brings money in to the club but also a fan has to start somewhere. Getting them in to a game is a start point to converting them to a fan. If we get another 7 or 8,000 fans in for the day and we get a few hundred that say "I enjoyed that, I'll go again" and so it grows. There's literally no negatives to getting a bumper crowd.TheHerminator said:

This will also get lots of internet exposure and lots of column inches which is all good for the club
Three points will be the icing on the cake14 -
