What odds on Bielik and May to score?
    Guaranteed. We are cursed.

Jones messes around too much IMO. Bench looks ok as long as we are not too far behind when changes are made.

442 diamond midfield will really test the fullbacks as they will have to provide the width attacking and defensively, and I fear our midfielders aren't mobile enough to cover those areas.

So he doesn't know his best players or his best formation now, all just in time to play the favourites for the league

It'll be ugly today I fear!
No doubts it'll be ugly. Only question is effecitive-ugly or grotesque-ugly? I'm expecting a right old minger of a match.

    4 4 2 ? .. God be praised, my payers are answered

Fun fact... According to the line-ups on TransferMarkt, Birmingham have beaten every team, bar the one who played a Diamond Formation against them - They've also only conceded just one goal against teams playing with Wing-Backs.

Whilst they've failed to keep a clean sheet playing anyone else.

    (5-3-2) - Huddersfield (1-0) - Wrexham (3-1) - Rotherham (2-0)
    (4-2-3-1) - Peterborough () - Wigan (2-1) - Leyton Orient (2-1)
    (4-3-3) - Wycombe (3-2)
    (Diamond) - Reading (1-1)

Might be deliberate method in the madness from Jones today.

Completely ridiculous side for the third tier

Marc Leonard only being able to make the bench sums up the quality they've got. Think Hansson and Dykes were both seven figure signings too.
12 of the players there all came in on transfer this summer. all undisclosed fees. another 3 on season loans. 15 out of 18 players.
  • Would have been happier if T Campbell was ahead of headless chicken Anderson.  Free role behind the front two with the comfort of three defensive midfielders behind him would allow him to potentially cause havoc.

Yeah because he left in the summer on a Free Transfer, he's with Carlisle United now 🙄
Naughty! That's worth another pre-match yellow card!

You know full well that Ross is referring the Scarlet Pimpernel Tel Tayl and not Terry-Ding-Dong-Thomas.
Nah, the worst that'd cause is a bit of mild confusion, where's the FFSs and the YESSSSSs tend to get the heart rate going before you get to the end of the sentence.

442 Diamond with Allan Campbell most advanced?
Can't be. 'Completely goes against the coaching manual' apparently.
  • The team looks like a 442 with the danger men kept on the bench for late in the game.
  • Can't see why one of Aneke or Leaburn couldn't have started. Good to bring on though when we are 2-0 up to see out the game.
You can't see why Aneke can't start?

With persistent offenders it's often the innocuous offence that draws the booking ...

    😉🤣
  • Don’t mind seeing the diamond, we needed to try something that didn’t rely so heavily on the wing backs. Still a lack of creativity in midfield but we essentially don’t have any truly creative midfielders so it’s almost pointless mentioning that. Anderson will be at the forward point in the diamond I reckon and asked to start the press.

Bit harsh on Tyreece. I mean I know he's not a striker, but he's more of one than Taylor.
  • Anderson getting this many minutes is criminal. Do we really not have anyone who can come in for him?
  • We are talking another sun in the eyes game today.

Perhaps TT instead of A Campbell not T Campbell.
    Or is this a whoosh

Just seen someone on the concourse in a full Chelsea tracksuit, think he knows he’s at the wrong game?

Think this is one of our biggest problems.

Anderson must be the type of player Jones wants in the role - he just isn’t good enough currently and it impacts the system.

Just wait until the round of second half subs when we're pushing to get a winner.

Anderson will go off to be replaced by Tyreece leaving us with an AC/TC pairing at half-forward.

Will we be Thunderstruck or will it be Hell's Bells, It's A Long Way To The Top?
  • Another major change of formation and personnel, and going to 4 at the back means Gillesphey and Potts don't even make the bench. It does look quite solid, though Kanu and Godden will be feeding off scraps
  • Why does it have to be a 'diamond'? Why not just a 442?

Same weaknesses as 3-5-2 really, so we they aren’t new potential issues.

*grin*  Yeah, that occurred after I'd typed it but before I hit send, but found amusement in the confusion, so did it anyway. And it doesn't say much for the impact Allan has had so far that that was where my brain went despite having already seen him on the teamsheet :)
  • PWR, beyond the first couple of posts

    Anderson & A Campbell? FFS 🤦🏻‍♀️
