Using my personal method of aiming for automatic promotion, with the added feature that I don’t like the notion that we can catch up later, I prefer that we go for consistency through the season, I think as we stand we are 1 point ahead of target. The target is predicated on winning every home game and drawing every away game or the equivalent. So in order to stay the 1 point ahead of target I believe we must win against Rotherham. A draw is dropping two points and a defeat is dropping three. So I think we have to win against Rotherham to be staying the pace. A defeat against Rotherham and a win at Shrewsbury would get us back to a ‘cushion’ of the 1 point we have now. My prediction is that Nathan Jones won’t be settling for a draw and is likely to be mightily pissed off if we lose. He can however make up for things by winning at Shrewsbury, all is far from lost at the moment.

You've contradicted yourself in the same post, unsurprisingly.
Steve Evans always gets his teams playing in a get in your face sort of way. We are no shrinking Violets ourselves under Nathan Jones. Watching Jones and Evans histrionics on the touchline should be quite entertaining. As for the match itself I expect a feisty affair with plenty of cards shown. Hopefully 3 points for the Addicks to justify playing the game this Saturday. 3 1 Charlton. Onwards and upwards.
...a sending off and a punch up. The "good ol days"

I suppose you mean because we could re balance a disaster on Saturday by winning at Shrewsbury. Yes that is catching up 'later' in a sense, or putting things right straight away in the sense I mean it.
For what it’s worth I rate this as a ‘very important game’.
Win; the mojo momentum will be maintained. It’d be great for morale to beat one of the favourites for promotion, and it’d solidify our early position in the playoff places.
Draw; no major drama, but it’d increase pressure to pick up wins against Burton and (mighty) Stockport.
Lose; we’ll all be bricking it, yet again, and probably slipping out of the playoff places.
The positivity engendered by our pretty decent start can all too easily slip away. And I’m missing my second match in a row for family reasons, when I’ve hardly missed a game in years. ☹️ However, I think we’ll nick it, with Adhadme breaking his duck.
Hoping for a vast improvement on last week's performance.....saying that Rotherham have assembled a very good squad and should be pushing for top 6.....1-1 with TC scoring.....
I agree this is a massive game for us. One that if we lose a lot of the momentum and hope built from our start this season will be badly hit. I think a draw is most likely unfortunately
Been reported by someone that works at the training ground that Jones & Eight Players have been off training with the bug that Berry & Watson had last weekend.

That's not what Jones said in the pre match press conference.

It's also a massive game for them. One win (albeit there last game) means they're a bit behind where they want or expect to be so they'll be looking for three points which may mean the game is a bit more open than many expect.
Someone on the other forum says NJ and eight players are off training with a bug.
He said in his presser today that the squad was all clear of the bug from Tuesday onwards. Could be keeping his cards close to his chest but I believe him more than anyone on a forum

( I know it's cruel but every time I think of Evans I picture Fat Bastard from Austin Powers )
He's got no mates.
