Pretty disastrous, but wasn’t comfortable with some of the OTT abuse he got during games.
Wish him well,
Bit concerned Jones made a point of saying he didn’t want to lose him.
I am more than a bit concerned by that comment. I’m praying that it was more of a comment towards a player, he’s been matey with, especially as he’s not had much of a sniff playing wise.
Given that Allan Campbell hasn't moved to Dundee on a loan, this is one effectively out of our hands - Had he not moved for a permanent fee I imagine Luton would have left him here, otherwise leaving it this late in the window to simply execute a loan recall would be strange timing.

Given the context of the entire quote I think it’s more a “I really wanted to this to work but it hasn’t so we’re letting him pursue another opportunity” rather than him having Allan Campbell ripped away from him against his will. He only compliments his work ethic and dedication to training, not how he performed on the field.
"We wish Allan all the best. He's one of the best pros you're ever likely to see in the way he goes about his business - how he trains, what and when he eats, how he prepares. I didn't want him to leave the football club because he's done fantastically well for me, however, I couldn't guarantee him that game time that he needs, craves and works so hard for. We had to do the honourable thing and allow him to move and go back home."

“However, inevitably, the fact is that we are looking to make improvements.
“Being in pursuit of a play-off place, you don’t want to look back at the end of the season and think: ‘We could have done something there which would have made a difference.’
“Part of it is slimming the squad down. We have 28 fit first-team players at the moment – they can’t even fit on one training pitch together.
“We’re seeing some players leave the club. At the same time, there is the aim to bring a couple more varied attacking options in.
Another example of how awful the standard of Scottish football is - player that couldn’t even get a regular match for us going to a SPL team. He’ll get more game time at Dundee United too.

I wonder if he will do better there than Scott Fraser who has so far made a few bit part appearances in first 3 games of the season, got I jured and then hasn't got back in the team since!
I don’t understand the vitriol towards him. He wasn’t good but he hardly played so had very little impact on our lack of success this season. Probably doesn’t help that Jones played a defensive midfielder in an attacking midfielder position. It is weird that we hate with a passion every player who isn’t good for us. It seems like he was well regarded by the coaching staff and teammates just didn’t live up to expectations. It is not like he was disliked by his fellow teammates like Marcus Maddison or Albie. I am glad he is moving on but our fan reactions are a little over the top weird.

I'm a complete knob at times
Not that anyone would notice
