Interesting he talks of him as an 8, clearly not come in to compete for Coventry’s role. I guess a combination of Doc/REG/Z Mitchell are the cover there0
-
I know he used to play for them, but they could have used a more recent photo of him wearing our shirt in that article, even if it was just one of the photo shoot ones.fenaddick said:2 -
Love this quote from Jones in that article.
"For us to get him is a huge, huge coup because he is not a League One player – he’s a Charlton player. That’s what I said: ‘You’re not coming to play in League One – you’re coming to play for Charlton"

So this geezer is a top six Championship player who loves a tackle... New crowd favourite potential

Fans cry for a creative number 10, but deep down they know they want a hard tackling, non-stop running box to box midfielder who can win player of the year.Chunes said:So this geezer is a top six Championship player who loves a tackle... New crowd favourite potential12 -

Could become a fans favourite very quickly.clive said:5 -
doesn't sound as if he's been bought in to sit on the bench1

Certainly not by his own choice - he could probably have got himself a Championship club or just stayed at Luton if that was his ambition, he wants to be playing.Elthamaddick said:doesn't sound as if he's been bought in to sit on the bench
I can't imagine a midfield that has any combination of him, Coventry and Docherty in it are going to be bullied very easily, and hope have some skill besides.1 -
He’s apparently a defensive midfielder but Nathan Jones liked playing him further forward. I expect him to take a lot of Karoy Anderson’s minutes. And some from Conor Coventry as well when he needs a rest.Elthamaddick said:doesn't sound as if he's been bought in to sit on the bench5 -
I have a feeling he hasnt been brought in to be sat on the bench. I would imagine once he is fit to start it will be his spot to lose1

The new Darren Pratley!0

High praise indeedSouthbank said:The new Darren Pratley!0 -
Would love someone to ask Nathan Jones just what he was thinking bringing in a load of his old mates, particularly Alan Campbell who I can’t stand. Absolute rubbish5
-
The only decent thing about Alan Campbell is that he's a loanee. Can we send him back in January?2
-
Sadly, we won’t have a ‘return to sender’ clause to trigger in January. Luton are too smart for that.cafcsinger said:Would love someone to ask Nathan Jones just what he was thinking bringing in a load of his old mates, particularly Alan Campbell who I can’t stand. Absolute rubbish0 -
Readying Allan Campbell for his future in League Two it seems.stoneroses19 said:Love this quote from Jones in that article.

We've had some awful loan signings in recent years but he's up there with the worst. The fact he keeps getting so many minutes is a red flag to me that Jones hasn't got a clue3
-
Has the odd moment where he shows some ability but I can’t work out how he was a regular in a Championship side that won the playoffs. He’s 26, he’s not an older player who’s lost his legs. Is he not putting in the same effort or was he lifted by a lot of good players around him?1

A fraud of a player to go with a fraud of a manager.1
-
I'd like to see him played in his natural position.
Why would you look at a player like that and think they could play advanced?2 -
I'd rather see one of the U21 players play in his place , at least they might catch up with the opposition player. He's fucking awful.4

This loan needs cancelling
Campbell is a pisstaking makeweight
he clearly doesn’t reciprocate the regard NJ has for him
or NJ owes him big time on something grim
Campbell is as ineffective as anyone I’ve seen piss about in Charlton colours for 20 years
If NJ selects him again he needs a kick in the balls or has to own up what hold the shameless fraud has over him

Thats where we've really messed up, and need correcting the most in January / the SummerChunes said:I'd like to see him played in his natural position.

We've got Anderson / Berry as our forward box players
Then we've got Coventry - Taylor - Docherty - A.Campbell - Edun all vying for the other two roles.1 -
Luton just outside the Championship relegation zone, only 3 points ahead of Pompey who were the most bang average side to ever win a league title. If Luton don’t want him and Berry, then they shouldn’t be good enough for a team with serious promotion ambitions in League One, especially not as our two “big” summer signings.
I’d far far rather be watching Albie Morgan, it’s getting that bad.2 -

I'd even prefer the peg legged pirate Captain Morgan complete with Parrot.Bedsaddick said:
