Enjoyed him getting stuck in with a couple of slide tackles too, including one to stop a promising move from Hudders, not seen enough of him to know when he can contribute to the first team, but whatever we did with TC we should be doing with KD
He needs the right ball. Remember Romedahl? For us he only got the ball back to goal and never impressed. For Denmark he got balls through defences or over the top to run onto.
Dixon doesn't need to be strong if he gets passes in front of him where he can use his pace.

When others say he needs to get stronger it’s more in the sense of TC being able to hold up the ball when he needs to and not being easily bullied by defenders like he could be in previous seasons.
That’s achievable for Dixon and would add to his game. It’s partly learning how to use his body more effectively, as well as becoming physically stronger.

Agreed, TC has bulked up but I think more importantly he’s learnt how to position himself so defenders can’t get a leg around him and poke the ball away. Once he gets between the defender and the ball, which happens often because of his pace, he rarely loses it these days. Having strength is part of it but even bulked up TC isn’t stronger than most centre halves, in the way someone like Chuks is, and it’s as much about how he uses his low centre of gravity and body position. It’s something Kanu, for example, still needs to get better at even though he is probably naturally stronger than TC. If Dixon can learn to do that then his small size will be less of an issue.
I loved Dixon’s energy and enthusiasm, closing down and tackling back. Unlucky not to get a goal or at least win us a penalty. You could also see the rawness and naivety about him.. There’s clearly something there though and he had no less impact today than Chuks (who was better today, to be fair) or Ahadme have had recently so I think it’s worth keeping him on the bench for now.
Pretty promising cameo. Game state helped but he didn’t really look out of place
Disagree personally. He came on and looked lively off the ball but to me he didn't look ready for first team football. Hopefully he has a strong summer and we can look to use him properly next season.
I think coming on with cameos is fine, but he still looks light weight. Chuks was very generous setting him up when he could easily taken a shot, but he was unable to take the opportunity due to the defender muscling him off the ball. It was a good starter but he is nt going to determine if we are to go up or not this season.
The manager and players clearly like him and see his potential. As he was coming on Jones was talking to him almost fatherly and at the end the team pushed him forward to fist pump the crowd. Sure today has done wonders for his confidence.

Muscling him off the ball? Fouling him completely more like
The boy did well. He's got guts, gets stuck in, does his share of defensive work and offers pace and unpredictability to the attack when players are tiring. He'll develop faster by getting game time in the first team, when the circumstances are right.
Thought he did as well as any youngster who's come into the side in the last season or three....... looks like he enjoys having the ball at his feet, he's fast, presses well, doesn't shirk a tackle........ admittedly his shot troubled the covered end crowd more than their keeper but hey, I'm liking the potential of what we're seeing so far.
So he's lightweight, but, Romedahl, Haynes, Treacy, Lookman and BWP used to bully defenders?
Couldn't score because they needed to bulk up.
Listen to your self.
I dont think its about bulking up as such (though that is an element). Tyreece isn't big but there is a noticeable difference between this season and last in how he is using his body and being stronger. League 1 is a physical league. He does need to add that aspect to his game to really kick on as Tyreece has. I have no doubt he will do it and have an impact next season.
He looks raw to me. At times he didn't really know where to run and he gave the ball away unnecessarily in our half when he got caught on it. But....great energy, clearly bags of talent and could well have got a goal if he hadn't been taken out. A good option for something different to bring on off the bench and really looking forward to seeing him after a full pre-season with us.
