I wonder how many of the people calling for Dixon have actually watched him play much

Probably most including me but I think the fact that Dixon is scoring freely with some remarkable goals for the U-21’s makes some people including me ask the question as to why he’s not even included to be in and around the first team squad if for nothing else to get a feel of it. I think things have slightly changed, with our upturn in form but prior to that when the first eleven were struggling to score at all it was understandable that people were asking the question. I accept that Jones doesn’t feel he’s ready and I’m sure that’s true but I’d suggest being included in the first team squad wouldn’t stunt his progress and might give encouragement to the lad. It’s not like he’s not played Mens football. He’s a current international who has featured for his Country.
He trains with the 1st team so he is around that environment. We are pushing for the play offs so there is no room for giving out places on the bench for experience!
I'm not disagreeing with this but wouldn't it be easier for him to come into and/or be around a squad higher in confidence and performing than when we were struggling?

It's a tough one because I can see both sides.

But then who do you drop for him to come in, and why? He doesn't have the same physical presence of Aneke or Leaburn, Anderson plays deeper and more central (and is more versatile in a pinch). That leaves Kanu but he got into the squad on merit, dropping him for the "new hot prospect" would be a bad message and could damage team spirit.

He'll get his chance but he'll have to wait for it.
  • Called up for the international games/

Two more needed to call the game off.
  • That suggests Anderson hasn’t been called up.

I was thinking about this. I was wondering if we would ask that Anderson be left out for this one due to club circumstances at this stage of the season

    Seems so.

What’s the rule? Three from one team? How likely are Posh to have any called up?

They’ve also got one call up and are unlikely to get more

    He's their best player too.

I’d argue that’s Poku but still a massive loss either way

  • Sorry who got called up for them? Kyprianou?

    Yeah, called up for Cyprus
  • Would expect to Jamaica to comfortably beat them surely
  • Might be a bit raw, but offered 4 year contract somebody must have seen something in him. Stick him on and let's see how it plays out. If Miles is out and Chucks is not on his metal.

Looking at that bench yesterday and the lack of anyone likely to do anything positive as sub, why not have someone that offers something different .

I don’t know if he’s anywhere near ready, I’ll leave NJ to judge that, but if Kanu and Leaburn are out we need a different option on the bench than just two of Ahadme, Chuks or Hylts and Dixon must be at the head of the queue.
Of the u21 strikers he must be. Mbick is injured and has been for a few months. Casey like Dixon scores goals but I don’t think he’d worry defenders physically - Dixon at least has pace.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines one of the biggest names in international football.
One of the best places in the world with the friendliest people. Absolute paradise. Hidden gem of the Eastern Caribbean.
I'm going there in November on a cruise.
Enjoy, definitely the time to go, cruises have only just started making it a regular destination. Sandals have just opened a brand new massive resort on the main island so it's getting a massive tourism boost but is still relatively "authentic".

Got an uncle that has lived on Bequia (the second biggest island in the country of SVG) for 7 years. Bequia is truly incredible - their favourite saying is that on the island rum is cheaper than water! Well worth a visit if you can. We went sailing around the smaller Grenadines islands, if you get a chance to visit Mayreau (spend a night in Salt whistle bay) which is round the corner from Tobago Cays which is a turtle sanctuary which does amazing restoration work with wildlife and coral, I swam with turtles and sting rays, or Carriacou they are the closest spots to untouched paradise on earth in my view. And of Union island is beautiful but devastated by Hurricane Beryl last year so if you can donate support the rebuilding efforts there it's well worth it.

DM if you want any tips.

Ohh and one of SVG's main productions is Cannabis. Though growing isn't actually legal there are huge sections of mountain covered with farms. It's sold pretty openly. I'm told it the best you'll ever sample! 🤣

Ahadme is awful and Chuks is done .

Perhaps you can bring back a few gems.
  • I'm on the fence with what we do with Kaheim.

Partly think it's best we are patient, and let him have the season with u21s, see how he progresses in the summer and make a decision on next season being further u21 development, a loan, or in to our first team squad.

The other part thinks we should get him in the squad now, with Miles being out, and Ahadme/Chuks not looking able to help the team in the way we need. My concern with putting Kaheim in now is that it is too soon, and we've done this several times in the past with young players when they're not ready and it's not been good for personal development.
