  • If we are only comparing like for like players then Ahadme is probably Wickham’s replacement.

…& I think I’d rather still have Wickham!

Wickham produced about 3 really high quality moments in and around the injuries and palpable lack of fitness .

    So Wickham > Ahadme
  • Will be Charlton manager in a few years time
  • Dobson > Docherty
    May > Ahadme

Two incredible downgrades from NJ & AS (that have prevented us from moving forward).

It would have been hard to recruit any worse.
I don't know why people keep insisting on comparing Ahadme to May. They're completely different players and Ahadme didn't replace May, Godden did. Ahadme was signed to provide the physical holdup game that was missing last season - which currently he isn't - and Godden was signed to replace May in terms of finishing chances. Currently May has 5 league goals, but only 1 in his last 9, and Godden has 4 league goals in not far off half the number of minutes of May. It's absolutely fine to not rate Ahadme based on what he's shown so far but you have to be honest and compare May with his replacement if you're going to insist on doing that, and it's Godden.
I compare Ahadme with May because that’s where the money we got for May was reinvested.

We could have done a lot in this league with £775k but instead we wasted a large chunk of it on Ahadme.

The above (awful recruitment) is ultimately why we can’t do better than mid table.
Technically we used the May money on Ahadme AND Godden... Jones wanted to change how the team was playing, need to accept that. Godden is 1 goal behind May having played less minutes and for a rather ordinary mid table side that struggles to create chances. May apparently plays for the Harlem Globe-kickers who can spend £20+ million on a strikeforce.

Unfortunately, the hoof ball we're playing doesn't allow for the neat touches and decent holdup play Godden is capable of, that May couldn't do. Ahadme needs crosses and we don't put any decent ones in, although would be good to see how well he does with Terry Taylor's set-piece delivery now if he stays in the team.
  • He’s been pretty pants so far. Can we send him back?

Which is about 38 more than the currently injured Ahadme who is on -35 for moments of quality shown
  • Thought he was ok tonight but was limping a bit and kept holding his knee. Didn’t exactly do anything that stood out which is worrying against an U21 team
