  • I think the performances since Jones has been injured speak for themselves. The defenders now play like they're strangers. Lloydy should have been made captain. It's now clear how bad communication is between the players.

Docherty hasn't shown he can address that issue.
  • Docherty is like somebody who can only bring £500 to the final chase whose only usefulness is being worth one point with no answers.
  • He did actually make a block tackle yesterday, I remember being surprised to notice him.

I’m not sure how much it matters in reality, but it is odd that Lloyd Jones wasn’t made captain. He’s our most important player, he’s probably our best player too. Remember that silly 8 + 8 + 8 squad building thing? L. Jones is about the only one I would out into that first group of 8 players capable of playing a at a higher level (maybe Leaburn).

I’d add Ramsay pre-injury to that.

    Yeah that’s a decent shout.
  • I’ve been a bit of a defender of his but does seem like he doesn’t do much every time he gets on the pitch and it isn’t likely to click into place

George Dobson is streets ahead of Docherty.

Even if we’re talking about captain duty/leadership, a big challenge or tackle from Dobbo could offer some inspiration in a game.

Docherty does literally nothing. Wouldn’t even know he was in the pitch most games.
Dobson is also technically far superior. Docherty on the ball makes me very sad

His stats are very poor and in a lot of areas he's underperforming most midfielders in the league. 43% duels won and pass accuracy 72%.

I don't think we need stats to tell us how he's been playing but it just underlines how poor he's been.
  • Dobson > Docherty
    May > Ahadme

Two incredible downgrades from NJ & AS (that have prevented us from moving forward).

It would have been hard to recruit any worse.
It's my biggest issue with Jones. We gave him total control of a transfer window and the majority of his signings haven't improved us at all

If I may, cast your minds back to Dobsons first games in the shirt.

Can’t understand how Dockerty keeps getting dropped and Coventry still hasn’t think dockerty does more than Coventry I’d like to see Taylor and Dockerty pairing
I don't think I've ever seen one of your posts and not thought, what in the name of fuck is he going on about. Genuinely baffled anybody could have this opinion - apart from the Bolton goal, he's been completely anonymous.
I’m baffled what Coventry brings apart from backwards and sideways I’d like to see what his completion rate is on forward passes. He can’t  take a set piece. Least he managed to get on score sheet Saturday Shame wrong end. perhaps my expectations of him are too high or the fact his nowhere near as good as Dobson. But his not doing it for me.
Curious to know what Docherty is doing for you?

We weren’t doing that well when he was fit .

Fairly sure Coventry has never once given the ball away when passing forwards.

Because he has never passed it forwards.

Another reminder why I am the way I am :)
  • We’d be a far worse team without Conor in it, same can’t be said of Docherty.

Agree in sentiment, but we were pretty good without Coventry against Stockport.

    May > Ahadme

Two incredible downgrades from NJ & AS (that have prevented us from moving forward).

It would have been hard to recruit any worse.
I don't know why people keep insisting on comparing Ahadme to May. They're completely different players and Ahadme didn't replace May, Godden did. Ahadme was signed to provide the physical holdup game that was missing last season - which currently he isn't - and Godden was signed to replace May in terms of finishing chances. Currently May has 5 league goals, but only 1 in his last 9, and Godden has 4 league goals in not far off half the number of minutes of May. It's absolutely fine to not rate Ahadme based on what he's shown so far but you have to be honest and compare May with his replacement if you're going to insist on doing that, and it's Godden.
I compare Ahadme with May because that’s where the money we got for May was reinvested.

We could have done a lot in this league with £775k but instead we wasted a large chunk of it on Ahadme.

The above (awful recruitment) is ultimately why we can’t do better than mid table.

Whoever out of Scott or Jones is ultimately responsible for recruitment has had another poor window, Mitchell aside .
  • If we are only comparing like for like players then Ahadme is probably Wickham’s replacement.

…& I think I’d rather still have Wickham!

Wickham produced about 3 really high quality moments in and around the injuries and palpable lack of fitness .
