Ahadme looks like a fitness freak with little bodyfat, but he's lacking decent strength or guile. If he's able to work on this, he'll be able to offer the team more.
Just put this on the post match thread but our midfielders are so far away from him so much of the time. Aneke is a better hold up player but when we're chasing a game like today our midfielders get so much closer to him. It's hard to keep control of a long ball with none of your teammates around you
Midfield is a problem also.
But when Lloyd Jones is offering more in open play in the opposition box than Ahadme, you have to start asking questions.
Was it from has that the keeper made a very good save in the second half? It had goal written all over it until the keeper palmed it away.
not defending him by the way, just stating that he did have a very good chance.
my problem with him is his size. He is the smallest 6’4 player in the world and needs gym time. I’m guessing he has to run around in the shower to get wet

But that's a Lloyd Jones playing an extra 30 yards up the pitch, with a defence sitting further back, midfielders close to him and Aneke, Godden & TC occupying defenders. Game state makes such a difference here. I'm not saying Ahadme is amazing but a lot of the criticism of him is ignoring the issues around him
Sorry mate that doesn’t fit this evening. Better to try again another time. Leave the moaners to it for today.
I was actually at the game not watching on telly and right behind the goal. He's ineffective on and off the ball. 2nd half he sponge headed ball on the goal line literally 10 feet from me.
Not moaning hes just not very good and in a team lacking any real creativity we need someone who can take chances.
take chances, and create the odd chance himself... either for himself or for somebody else... it doesn't help when you have sweet FA service but proper CFs are able to create things themselves too to an extent, May, Aneke, Taylor, Kermogant, Bent, Hunt, sir clive...
he runs hard but we are clinging onto that, and the all too rare moment when he manages to retain possession as "good hold up" play...
he is weak, not very good in the air, has a poor touch, is slow, and can't turn or shoot... I've not yet seen a meaningful positive attribute other than "workrate"
Once again Charlton buy another teams cast off crock. Do we not study a playerslast 6 to months before buying them. Do we not study what is wrong with them .

I want him to succeed...was pleased he scored last week and said he was having a good game early on today but that was by the sub standard he's generally delivered so far.
Really needs to improve as Lloyd Jones Was more effective up there today in troubling their defence.

I really do hope that Leaburn matches the expectations of the fans, and of course doesnt have a recurrence of his injury (e.g. hasn't turned into Aneke mk2) - Just feel that there is a huge weight of pressure being put on Miles' shoulders given his First Team experience, and age.
Reminds me of when I used to say that we'd be a different beast back in 2019-20 the moment we had Inniss and Famewo back from injury... Players are always better when they're not playing.
Ahadme is older and has more experience so gets given a lot less leeway and deservedly so. If it's another shit season then fans will turn on Leaburn eventually if he's poor 'cause that's the nature of the beast. Ahadme has had enough time and has shown nothing of value other than maybe work rate . Even his goal last week was shit. Is it his fault he was bought to play a role he is clearly no good at? That's a separate arguement.
Sorry but seven games is not enough time... Its ridiculous just having to type that
He's had enough time to show he can fit into how the manager wants him to play. He's shown th opposite That's different to enough time to show he's good.
Yet there he is... Still starting week in, week out... When we could equally play Godden / Kanu instead
So imagine the Manager is happy with how he's fitting in for the most part
So there's never been players repeatedly picked by a manager who you though weren't good enough and should be dropped for someone else, or even a different system? Managers make decisions for lots of reasons.
They do, and I respect those decisions... I also give those decisions time and not f**king seven games!!
Euell didnt even score in his first seven games when he joined us
I honestly don't get it... Is there a desire to be able to say "I told you so" when it eventually doesnt work out, just a general lack of patience in life? - Its happening more and more in Football in general - Majority seem to want immediate results yesterday... What do you win from it? - Its not like Jones' is going to come out and go: "Oh those fans were right, I shouldnt have been starting him"
Where have I said the problem is him just not scoring goals? You have a very simplistic view of forwards and how they can only be judged it seems? Or that's just how you're choosing to read things as it's easier? Let's hope he proves me wrong in the longer term (what constitutes enough time btw?). His work rate and attitude for the team is excellent, no question about that. I just don't see enough quality at anything else at the moment. Especially as he was kind of portrayed as a bigger signing when he joined us.

You have my apologies for presuming that... However suggesting that I have an overly simplistic view on Strikers on that one post, is equally overly the top, based on one post... if you want my opinion.
However if your issues with him aren't surrounding goals, I'm not sure what he can do to change that
He wins half of the duels in the air that he fights for, and in recent games has been bringing down the balls to bring others into play... e.g. He'd have had an excellent assist against Shrewsbury had Coventry kept the ball on target. If anything, I'm a bit wary of how he can be slow to pass the ball when he's got the ball to feet... But that's been it.
The biggest issue is utilising him amongst the team, against Reading he was bringing the ball down, but his team mates weren't getting close enough to pick up the second balls, whilst Reading themselves crowded him, to benefit themselves.., Is that all a Ahadme problem, or a wider issue?
He wasn't the problem today. Six or seven others to blame first before we reach Gassan. A d in my opinion the service to him has been practically non existent. In fact the cross for the own goal was probably the best he's seen so far this season.
How come Chuks can create chaos, assists and goals with the same service, it’s because Chuks is a great player, Gas is no where near yet.
Needs dropping from the team for his own good now. Can’t be good for his confidence, problem if NJ wants to play this way then there’s no alternative. We really should’ve had a look at wickham again

If you had your way we would still habe Bonne and fucking Reza up front lol

Sigh... No need to take that approach - I thought you wanted to avoid an argument?
played well again first half worked hard won number of headers and flick ons not his problem no one reading them , look at the diff partners he had already , did not help him today was poor and the lack of balls into the box from our wing backs not helping either … Godden and Ahadme has to have a run as our partnership

Glad I’m not the only one! Didn’t he win lots of headers and free kicks in that first half when we were generally playing terribly? And won posession back a couple of times? Was I seeing things?

Stats are for his whole performance but 8/17 (47%) aerial duals won and won 3 free kicks. 79% pass completion which is not to be sniffed at either

If only they had somewhere and some time to practice.

But so far he is in contention for being the worst forward I’ve seen play for Charlton in 55 years.
I wouldn’t back him to score a penalty & if he played every game this season I doubt he’d score 5 with his feet.
He’s desperately poor and I couldn’t see anyone paying a fee for him (apart from us) on his current displays.
Overall I’d say he is woeful and I’ve seen far better non league players.

No balance
Hasn't got himself into a scoring position more than twice all season
Wins some flick ons
Great
We'd be better off with Stockley.
Not that I'm interested in having one either
Leaburn we need you!
