I really do hope that Leaburn matches the expectations of the fans, and of course doesnt have a recurrence of his injury (e.g. hasn't turned into Aneke mk2) - Just feel that there is a huge weight of pressure being put on Miles' shoulders given his First Team experience, and age.

Reminds me of when I used to say that we'd be a different beast back in 2019-20 the moment we had Inniss and Famewo back from injury... Players are always better when they're not playing.
Ahadme is older and has more experience so gets given a lot less leeway and deservedly so. If it's another shit season then fans will turn on Leaburn eventually if he's poor 'cause that's the nature of the beast. Ahadme has had enough time and has shown nothing of value other than maybe work rate . Even his goal last week was shit. Is it his fault he was bought to play a role he is clearly no good at? That's a separate arguement.
Sorry but seven games is not enough time... Its ridiculous just having to type that
He's had enough time to show he can fit into how the manager wants him to play. He's shown th opposite That's different to enough time to show he's good.
  • Sorry just not good enough. How many partners has he had so far . Three or four ? None have working so you have to work out what the common denominator is . Time for a break

Yet there he is... Still starting week in, week out... When we could equally play Godden / Kanu instead

So imagine the Manager is happy with how he's fitting in for the most part

The worst thing for him was the price tag he was signed for.

He's clearly someone that shouldn't be starting games right now, he doesn't offer enough. The issue is we don't really have the depth in the position to allow him to improve on the training field.

We went after about 15 different strikers in the summer so clearly the management team thought we needed more quality than what we currently have too.

It’s 15% of the season… how long do you suggest we pursue with him? If you have even half an eye on getting promoted you can’t be giving charity out mate, this is the league season at stake not pre season trial matches

Maybe some of the problem is he keeps playing with different partners so has no chance to build a relationship
  • He is not the reason why we play badly, but he does nothing to influence our play either. Generally poor with his feet and not strong enough in the air. I believe in six or seven games we can now conclude he is not our man.

  • He wasn't the problem today. Six or seven others to blame first before we reach Gassan. A d in my opinion the service to him has been practically non existent. In fact the cross for the own goal was probably the best he's seen so far this season.
  • Gass is old news. He is ok now. Us boo boys have now moved on to scapegoating the rest of the team.
  • He wasn’t the problem today. Got zero help from Kanu and A. Campbell who were meant to be his supporting cast in the first half.

There wasn’t a massive amount of difference between how we controlled the start of the second half when Ahadme was up front compared to how we finished the second half with Aneke up front.

Obviously we looked dangerous when Blackpool shut up shop and camped in their 18 yard box lol
He wasn’t the ONLY problem but he was absolutely one of many very significant problems. You’re off your head if you’re intimating that Aneke and Ahadme were comparable in their execution of the CF role, the concept of help is fine but maybe Kanu needed his help?? He’s played every game and I can’t remember him getting even vaguely into a position where he might take a shot let alone actually taking one, which is obviously heavily related to service but also heavily related to him
I ain’t gonna change your mind so fair enough. Made the point I wanted to and will leave it to everyone to pile on.
  • Just put this on the post match thread but our midfielders are so far away from him so much of the time. Aneke is a better hold up player but when we're chasing a game like today our midfielders get so much closer to him. It's hard to keep control of a long ball with none of your teammates around you
  • Another goal today....

    Oh!

    Midfield is a problem also.

But when Lloyd Jones is offering more in open play in the opposition box than Ahadme, you have to start asking questions.

So there's never been players repeatedly picked by a manager who you though weren't good enough and should be dropped for someone else, or even a different system? Managers make decisions for lots of reasons.

To be fair though Jones was thrown up there when we had three other forwards on plus Berry and we were peppering the box with crosses from all angles. Gas has been feeding on scraps.

They do, and I respect those decisions... I also give those decisions time and not f**king seven games!!

Euell didnt even score in his first seven games when he joined us

I honestly don't get it... Is there a desire to be able to say "I told you so" when it eventually doesnt work out, just a general lack of patience in life? - Its happening more and more in Football in general - Majority seem to want immediate results yesterday... What do you win from it? - Its not like Jones' is going to come out and go: "Oh those fans were right, I shouldnt have been starting him"

This isn't the first game though that Jones has offered more in front of goal than Ahadme. Which is mad to think about.

Was it from has that the keeper made a very good save in the second half? It had goal written all over it until the keeper palmed it away.

not defending him by the way, just stating that he did have a very good chance.

my problem with him is his size. He is the smallest 6’4 player in the world and needs gym time. I’m guessing he has to run around in the shower to get wet

  • One of the most ineffective forwards I've seen for us for years.

Needs to get on the weights.
  • What's odd is apparently he loves the gym but I agree he looks spindly

    Who's 6'4? Ahadme is 6'1 on a good day

Must spend his time in the sauna or doing boxercise.

But that's a Lloyd Jones playing an extra 30 yards up the pitch, with a defence sitting further back, midfielders close to him and Aneke, Godden & TC occupying defenders. Game state makes such a difference here. I'm not saying Ahadme is amazing but a lot of the criticism of him is ignoring the issues around him
Sorry mate that doesn’t fit this evening. Better to try again another time. Leave the moaners to it for today.
