However, I can see the girls want one.  I'm allergic to dogs so we are very much limited to a choice of hypoallergenic hair over fur.

We've already got 3 cats in the house. Are maltipoos good with kids, cats and a grumpy old fucker of a human Dad who really really doesn't want the job of chief poo pickerupper?!

You've already answered the question mate, the girls don't need a dog. 3 cats is a lot of fur energy and dogs become boring to families tragically quickly and they become a chore. They need stimulation, care and exercise whereas cats give the impression that animals are easy. Besides that, its their house and they can be at best unpredictable with new additions let alone their sworn mortal enemies coming in. Also, the cats claw is not a combination with puppies eyes especially inquisitive puppies eyes
