We head off to Blackpool this afternoon in another game where a win would be rather useful to say the least, Curtis Fleming and Jason Pearce will take interim charge following the departure of Michael Appleton.
Blackpool are another team, rather like Northampton sitting in a very good position to launch an attack on the top six, so once again a difficult encounter to say the least, ably assisted by ex Addick, one Albie Morgan, a player I always felt we were far too hasty in letting go, and no doubt could possibly help put another dent in our season today, have a day off Albie eh...
We have locked horns on 67 previous occasions with us winning 19, the Seasiders 31 and the remaining 17 meetings resulting in draws, in the reverse fixture at The Valley, Charlton fought back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw thanks to late goals from Alfie May and Corey Blackett-Taylor.
We could finish today sitting one place above the drop zone with yet another reverse, or the heady heights of 14th with a much needed victory...🤷♂️
Here we go...
Curtis Fleming has made three changes for his first game as Interim Head Coach at Bloomfield Road this afternoon.
The Addicks travel to Blackpool with Lucas Ness, Terell Thomas and Nathan Asiimwe returning to the starting lineup.
The trio replace the suspended Tayo Edun, the injured (concussion) Conor Coventry and Lloyd Jones who moves to the bench.
If the Addicks start in the 3-5-2 used in recent weeks then Ness, Thomas and Gillesphey will start in a back three in front of Ashley Maynard-Brewer.
Asiimwe and Tennai Watson will operate as wing backs with Rarmani Edmonds-Green expected to move into midfield to partner skipper George Dobson and Tyreeq Bakinson.
Alfie May and Freddie Ladapo again start up front.
Jones is joined on the bench by Harry Isted, Karoy Anderson, Louie Watson, Lewis Fiorini, Tyreece Campbell and Daniel Kanu.
Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; Ness, Thomas, Gillesphey; Asiimwe, Edmonds-Green, Dobson (c), Bakinson, T.Watson; May, Ladapo
Subs: Isted, Jones, Anderson, L.Watson, Fiorini, Campbell, Kanu
