  • They're surely not waiting for candidates to send in CVs again like last time are they?
Shows how amateurish this whole shower is.

Scott isn't an Amateur; Look up his football career and CV.
Slag him off for making poor decisions on selecting the Head coach but Thomas and Martin Sandgaard were the Amateurs.
Southall was a complete fraud and liar in his dealings. We made a joke of the super duper phone but he made grown men look very naive. Why did Bowyer and Gallen go along with the smoke and mirrors that evening ?
So many poor decisions made over nearly a decade. It's actually longer but I don't want to go over the whole history of Cafc and their profligacy despite having Seed and Curbishley over different periods.

One of the reasons given for appointing a manager with a Charlton connection is the the fans will be patient if things go wrong. But is that really true? Not sure that was the case with Jacko or Bowyer. I know The latter wasn’t sacked, but it felt like he was on the brink. I wouldn’t be too upset he returned, although sounds like that’s not on the cards anyway.
  • 40 minute interview with the man himself - doesn’t sound keen to be a manager again any time soon

  • Powell or Bowyer for me.

But they have to be given complete control over first team affairs.  Not be one part of a multi-director committee of 8+8+8 corporate jobsworths.

Powell doesn’t want to manage again and Bowyer doesn’t want the job.
  • Chris Powell's success at Cafc was when they had a clear out. Powell, Chappell and Dyer used their contacts and brought in a whole new squad.
The moral to this story is Chris is good with a squad he brings in his self with the aid of his assistant and his chief scout as long as the Scout has a professional football background and not on football manager.
If CP turned it down before it was offered to Appleton (not sure on the timeline) then why would he want it under these circumstances ?
Anything is possible and would probably have about 85% backing from fans even if it was a 4 month contract with a big bonus to stay up.
You can say that about all managers though can't you? Exception being theres a ready made squad of good quality that a manager walks into.
