Recently linked Tom Holmes of Reading signed for Luton (and loaned straight back), former target Cole Stockton signed on loan for Barrow. Cheltenham, striker Goodwin is rumoured to have favoured Oxford over our bid and had a medical, though nothing confirmed.

Yesterday Highlights

January signings ‘smashed’ through the 100 mark in the EFL yesterday, though our ex-keep Craig MacGillvray was the only move in L1 going on loan to Stevenage from MK Dons.

Seems like lots of ‘racing’ going on at the moment, which depending on whatever click bait or ITK journo you follow there’s some we are losing, some we are winning, and some (my favourite) we are still in the race for. 

Strikers are now finally coming under focus. If we ‘lost the race’ with Goodwin and couldn’t get JCH to the starting blocks , it seems we’ve switched to the big lump Ikpeazu at Port Vale and Lapado at Ipswich, and both are rumoured to be having medicals Friday morning. 

Also knocking around as rumours are Huddersfield’s defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green and the keeper Ward whose contract Swindon recently cancelled.

Some firms get pizza in on Friday’s, it seems this year that Charlton get new players, so hold your hat for a potentially busy day.

Yesterdays Highlights

So the Friday theme continued as we decided we definitely need something other than a million centre mids. Edmonds-Green from Huddersfield signed permanently and will bolster the defence, while finally we start to address the attacking problems with Freddie Ladapo signing 2 weeks before his 31st birthday on loan till the rest of the season. 

Blackett-Taylor seems to be ‘out the building’ now bar all but the very tip of a shoelace. Photos emerged last night of him in a Derby shirt, though nothing has been announced. 

Other rumours still seem firmly weighted on the arrival side, with attacker Aaron Collins the last name to start getting prominence. JCH likelihood seems to have cooled significantly, and Port Vale’s Ikpeazu was one that was expected to happen yesterday but for whatever reason didn’t.

Been a quiet few days at The Valley 🙈 On the player front, Lewis Ward signed a short term contract till the end of season to provide goalkeeper cover, while Corey Blackett-Taylor completed his move to Derby. 

Youngster Harvey Kedwell has hopefully secured his himself some game time with a loan move to Dagenham for the rest of the season, while talk of Dobson going to Hungary for next season seem to be gathering pace, with Fehervar (me neither!) the named club of interest. 

Other moves of interest elsewhere, Mark Kinsella’s lad Liam switched from Swindon to Cheltenham.

Since last update Highlights

Been a quieter few days on the transfer front as new manager speculation has dominated the backdrop. An injured Watford right back Jeremy Ngakia and Aaron Collins at Bristol Rovers are the two names that have been floated (to play, not manage).

Elsewhere, professional loanee Jonathan Leko switched to Burton, Wimbledon’s striker we had previously been linked with Al Hamadi signed for Ipswich and Reading lost their highly rated youngster Nathan Abbey to Olympiakos. 

Definitively feel there’s more ins and outs to come at Charlton over the next three days

Another quiet day in terms of Charlton arrival speculation, but the club confirming Abankwah had 

returned to Udinese highlighted again just how poor the summer transfer business was; of the 5 season loans, 3 have been returned to parent clubs, 1 has been injured throughout and the other has struggled to feature. 

Two more days until Thursday’s close. Usual last min scramble anticipated

So we enter the last day of the window in the unusual position of not too many rumours flying around. Whether that’s because all of our business is already done remains a possibility, but I certainly expect some ins and outs to emerge today. 

Fraser finally completing a loan up north equals the score between the Ins and Outs. The biggest question of all is will Dobson still be a Charlton player by the end of the day? 

The Premier League really hasn’t kicked into action this window and I think the likelihood of a damp squib is more on the cards than last minute craziness, but we shall see. Sky will have their poor sods shivering in the dark outside closed up training grounds tonight none the less!

So though it felt the least impacting deadline day in memory, 117 transfers involved English clubs still went through on the last day. Charlton completed their additions with Harrogate’s right back / RWB Kayne Ramsay, and maintaining the even in / out ratio say McGrandles return to Lincoln on loan. I think more was anticipated for us for the last day but I’ve no doubt the lack of confirmed manager and future tactical preference played a factor,
