Been reliably informed that the funeral will take place at Christ Church (Greenwich) on Friday 15th December at 1:30PM. Rather than any flowers, Dave would have preferred donations to Greenwich & Bexley hospice. Either by their website, or collection boxes on the day.
We have about £200 in the old protest fund account which some was leftover from the last shirt sponsorship and some is interest as there is another amount of money in there from another Charlton project. I did check I could have the interest… So in Dave’s memory we are going to donate the £200 to the Charlton Riding School for the Disabled. Some of you remember we donated to them before at Dave’s suggestion as it’s a local charity close to his heart.
I checked with Dave’s wife yesterday, as I know the family have asked for donations to the hospice, but she is happy with that as she did consider them to.

Love it mate. My daughter went to the Arrow School in Dartford for years and got to a bloody good standard. They do great work these places and the difference you see in the kids once on the horse is amazing.

I just found some threads on it. It was £3,500 from the protest shirts. That was amazing. I had forgotten how much. And £700 from the remainder of the protest fund. Dave posted some pics of progress in the bottom of this thread.

There was plenty of representation from Charlton, CAST and Herbert's alike!! Plenty of Scots. Eulogy written by Dave and read by Millwall. Dave a man for all people! Lovely words from his wife, daughters, niece and aunt. Went to The Pelton after, it was rammed so we had to leave early to get back to the South coast. Proud to have had him as a friend. RIP big fella. X

It was indeed @church-lane a wonderful service and fitting send off for Dave today . . and like you I too am Proud to have had Dave as a friend . . RIP x
A sad day, as Dave has gone far too early, but also a day to remember the happy times. Dave's self penned eulogy was both happy and sad but mostly happy. It said a lot about Dave's outlook on life. It was also a day to catch up with many old friends I hadn't seen for a while and be able to reminisce how Dave had been part of our lives over the many years we had known him. Goodbye big fella. See you on the other side.
I have been a bit slow in sorting the donation to the Riding School because I didn’t get a reply from my email. Anyway this popped up this morning so have donated now.
The group that hold the other money also kindly donated £100. And I have rounded it up. The Just giving link is in the FB post.
