I am permanently Mr Angry in there after games For the last few years in deepest winter you can’t get a hot drink after games - after the Exeter game they’ve got a guy selling cocktails but no tea or coffee - it drives me mad - I have complained to the caterers and recently to steve s who has promised to take it up with them On Saturday they had a couple of flasks at the end where they serve the food and I thought oh great they’ve finally listened to me - the surly girl at the counter said that there was tea in one of the flasks so I drained the flask and got half a cup before it ran out - she then refused to make any more and refused to find any milk and rang up £3.80 on her machine and asked me to pay which I refused
At that point I walked off in my weekly huff even more annoyed than usual!!!
After dropping my friend off home in the car, I joined another friend in the River Ale House Pub, lovely ales. £4.50 a pint. and a 10 bus ride home from me from there.

When are you picking your car up?
I live in Greenwich, so dropped my friend off, parked outside my house and got a bus down.
i think its good in there - the drinks selection has improved and i bet there aren't many league grounds where you have the same facility for free overlooking the pitch - the staff are not great like at all the food and drink outlets at the ground but overall i think opening it up to all is one of the best things the club have done over the last few years
Blackpool corner flag bar in the hotel at the ground. £10 for a medium glass of wine and a pint of Heineken. Have massive televisions so everyone can see the football and a great choice of food with waitress service. And a friendly smile to go with it.
Plus the bar remains open during the game but the shutters go down.
Andy Scott has spoken about improving things with the club as a whole. And this is a classic example of shoddiness. I said his words were at least a barometer to beat him with. This is a pretty quick win isn't it?
So it's Andy Scott's fault that someone paid London prices in London for a pint but gained on the coke?
Not sure what people are expecting in terms of staff, given they're just hired for a few hours each week and aren't permanent.
For example between the 28 October and 28 November, we have one home league game. So these people will be hired for maybe 6 hours in a month. You're not going to get first class hospitality staff, it's probably a case of them speaking to an agency and saying 'send whoever you have'.
would I drink in there if I didn't have kids with me, probably not - but it serves a purpose
Well summed up. It’s functional and does a job, before the game it’s a nice pre-cursor to the game. £10.50 for a pint and half of Peroni is lumpy though but you’re paying a premium for convenience and you’re not gonna have a session there.
Went in after game for first time in a few years. Thought it was a little soulless, slow to open blinds up, section towards the glass taped off. Didn’t feel the same as it does pre-match.
As for the staff, the pourers are clearly fish out of water but some of the regular other staff are fantastic. The lady with the head scarf and the young guy who greet you upstairs, the fella on the entrance door and the bag tag guys, all of them super friendly
I do feel like it should stay open a bit longer post match.
Last orders around 6pm seems a bit early given the extended matches these days due to added time. I suspect some people don't get back in there until 5.15.
Employees are clueless and act like they are half asleep. One person serving on the hot food stall and there was less in the kids nuggets and chips than last time. Topping this, plastic glasses for expensive beer is taking the piss and not only that, shite for the environment too I expect.

It still pisses me off that every fucking Saturday home game somebody decides it’s a good idea to switch from a game everybody is watching to Charlton TV with NO FUCKING SOUND. Why ????? It was made worse this week because we missed Liverpool’s winning goal against Palarse

Clueless service, even the queues are not in the correct place. Also, very bizarre idea to spread the food across 2 places. Might have been this way for a while, just is my first home game.

Yeah that’s a ridiculous decision every week, everyone has just seen the line up on their phone and no one can hear the bloody tv anyway

I agree only a total fuckwit would allow fans to sit there watching a game from 12.30 to 14.15 to then turn it over for Charlton TV with no sound and miss the end of the game. You couldn't make up the crass stupidity.

And nobody says anything?
There isn't really anyone with any sort of authority to tell. It's all agency bar staff, glass/plastic collectors and stewards/security. I have successfully got them to actually put the football on the TV on occasions, but it took a lot of perserverance and patience, when the place is quiet. No chance when it's rammed full at 14.15.

After many many discussions with the management i managed to get them to agree to keep the evening kick off on until it finishes(they used to turn that off around 80 minutes 🤦♂️) but now they allow you to stay till the end of the evening match and that took a lot of discussions 🤣🤣
Time it opened and bar staff never ready. Lack of decent beer. The price. Bar staff who haven't got a clue what they are doing. Poor quality and expensive food.

Plus much more.
We've taken our custom elsewhere.
Another item for the next FF meeting expected to take place in the NY.

Stayed there 3 weeks ago.

Our pal asked for a large glass of red, and was served a pint glass at least 2/3 full !
So, another in our group thought he'd see if it was a one off...
Asked for a large glass of rose & was served a similar measure in a pint glass too !
As the recipient of the latter, I say bring it on !
How was the red beer?

fans meeting in the Big Apple seems ridiculous.
