North Stand closed at Hillsborough by the local council

That was fairly obvious, no advisor was ever going to be taking a risk with fan safety at Hillsborough of all places.11

I would imagine Chris Powell would be a huge loss. In a difficult environment, having such a positive coach must have bought at least an air of normality.
It's a shame he could not have continued his gig with England where I am sure he was an outstanding mentor to the young players in the squad.9 -

My understanding is that Sheffield Wed were quoted £15 million to do the work to replace the support structure of the North Stand. £3 million for remedial works to temporarily solve the problem. That’s a lot of wedge. Obviously Chansiri won’t be paying it and it’s another unavoidable expense to add to the purchase price of the club. Unless there is a purchase very close to being agreed it’s hard to see how they can continue. The monies owed to players was paid using transfer revenue and now that’s gone or nearly gone what then. Payday in the next few days will be interesting. Tax man and other clubs still owed money that presumably any buyer would need to fund in addition to the North Stand works. Hard to see anybody stupid enough. When will the EFL say something?0

Any prospective buyer at this point surely waits for them to go into administration?2 -

I honestly don’t see how they can start the season in the current circumstances. How on earth can they provide evidence that they have funds to complete the season whilst they owe HMRC etc0

Chris_from_Sidcup said:He allegedly owes a lot of money to people he's borrowed from, and some at fairly high interest rates, which is why his asking price is so high.

Blimey Charlton fans, was just perving on other clubs forums to gather some qualitative info from each teams fans to see how the Championship season is shaping up. Didn't expect to see a big thread about us and plenty of hatred on their, but also some love and appreciation. Our club has been consistently and utterly mismanaged and abused from the top down for decades now. I know certain clubs can empathise with that, maybe such as yourselves who've clearly been dragged along by the wrong people doing the wrong things and making the fans suffer.
Anyway, I'm not trying to change opinions. Football is a game of emotion and bad experiences clearly stick around but I hope you guys know there's plenty of genuinely decent fans of our club and not monsters. Visited the Valley a few times in recent years sat in the home end due to working nearby and also with SWFC. One of my favourite traditional grounds and the only London team I've warmed too (alongside Bromley). Genuinely had some super interactions with Charlton fans and plenty of banter.
I came on mainly because I was intruiged at the business you'd conducted this summer and was liking the shape up of your squad moving forwards. I've got you down to finish top half, not sure what you guys think?
