paulsturgess said:Chris_from_Sidcup said:Saw a post on Owls talk that with the players they lost this summer they:
- have lost 80% of the goals and 75% of assists from last season
- have just 11 goals and 11 assists from last season still at the club
- have just 6 players left who registered a Championship goal or assist last season
surely the percentage of the goals and the percentage of the assists left from last season would also be the same figure and not 80 and 75 as you mention?
If they have 11 goals left and lost 80% from last year, that suggests they had 55 goals last year and have lost 44.
If they have 11 assists left and lost 75% from last year, that suggests they had 44 assists last year and have lost 33.
You’re welcome! 😎1 -

Out of interest, if they are unable to fulfill their fixtures and get kicked out, do only two teams get relegated or is it the three lowest teams still?0

This all feels like it might end up like the Bolton Wanderers situation of a few years ago, 2019 I believe, in terms of fielding a team of youngsters who at the time were called ‘Junior Whites’.0

There's no way they'll get kicked out, they're too big for that. They'll just play with free transfers/loans/kids until they either get taken over or go into administration and then get taken over.
It's definitely going to be an advantage for the clubs who play them early on in the season though, same as it was with the teams who played Bolton. They're going to start the season with a mish-mash of players who've played hardly any pre-season friendlies together.4 -

AndyG said:I don’t want them to fold either but there comes a point when somebody (other than a minnow) has to be held to account to show other clubs they can’t behave in this way. Most clubs are run in the correct manner but some are flying close to the wind an example of Sheffield Wednesday is we like other clubs are atm trying to sign players on our agreed budget, these bastards sign players (to the detriment of other clubs getting relegated) and don’t even pay for them !!
I imagine they will now struggle to attract free transfers, as the precarious nature of their salaries getting paid would likely put off quite a few decent players. Those without a club or of poorer quality will likely fill the void.
Sad times at Hillsborough. They are a great club and their fans are entitled to feel aggrieved. As fickle as fans can be, like we have endured, poor owners can ruin a club and cause significant distress to those that invest their lives following their team through the good and the bad on the pitch.
As a home town club, my sense of rivalry with Wednesday is equal to that of some 'other' London teams. Without our fiercest and most disliked rivals football loses it's passion and purpose. I hope they sort their shit out and continue give us a good game (but not too good). The thought of there being no Wednesday is unthinkable.5 -

They'll probably end up with a chunk of that PFA Free Agents squad that's been going around. Which is very League 1 level.0

The reports of the Mansfield friendly being cancelled don't seem to be correct - the local paper says it was played behind closed doors and the club seems to have had a full squad for it.

Anyone know if there’s any truth in the rumour that Barry Bannan is set to miss the start of the season after a hair transplant went wrong?10
