I must have watched different games up Appleton because in the Cup relay & on Tuesday evening McGrandles has been lightweight & not seen him do much at all. Doesn't tackle like Dobson nor does he play any telling passes like Fraser or Watson (L) To me the game just passes him by.

I was watching the Television last night and there was talk of Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest having his job under threat and that made me wonder if we could get him. A proper manager.

This is where I've started feeling negative. He clearly isn't perfect but it's League One so he's going to have flaws in his game. But digging out players like that, starting Rylah over TC, CC randomly coming into the team and LW being put to the side just seems like bad man management to me. Surely it’s abundantly clear to all by now that the problems with Charlton are not related to the manager, they go much deeper. We can chop and change managers multiple times a season for the next decade if you want, but we’ll be doing it in League One (at best).
I think he’s been alright, we have a very average squad and thats the problem. Last squad that was decent was under Bowyer. I don’t think another would do much better with this squad.
Apart from May, this new groups transfer dealings have been mediocre at best. And you have to remember May literally fell into their laps such was his want to return back home.

Re: Key players, he's only been missing Aneke & Camara up until recently. And we all knew you couldn't count on Chuks to be fit anyway, no Charlton manager has had that luxury.
Most concerning for me is the repetition. We have the same problem in the first 45 minutes... Lack of aggression, not competing, not willing to be brave and play forwards. Then second half they come out and improve for a while.
If a set of players can do it for 30-45 minutes, they can do it for 90. Surely all it needs is the right messages and motivation. But it's the same thing every week.
