Yessss buzzing what a signing, very realistically gonna have multiple games this season where all our CBs are aged 21 or younger, which I am sure will pay off.....
He looks to have good pedigree. You don’t get thrown into a starting XI against Juventus at the back end of last season for no reason.
This is correct. We have a fair amount of experience at CB in Hector, Thomas, and Jones. This one seems like a high upside play. He should have some time to bed in.
Udinese is one of the best clubs in the world at spotting and developing young talent, and they have been for many years. Obviously not every signing works out, but I respect their scouting and development far more than I do, say, Huddersfield's or Cardiff's.
"He hasn't played in League One" who gives a fuck? He's played in Serie A. Surely that's a better indicator of talent. And he is Irish, so it's not like he'll have to learn the language.
For those wondering why he's gone to League One, I suspect it's to prepare him for a move to Watford next year.
It's nice to see us broadening our horizons because we have been incredibly insular for many years.
It may take some time, but I think this could end up being a really good signing. And if not, he's a fifth or sixth choice CB on loan. Low risk, high reward.

Am I the only one doing a involuntary "Countdown" on his surname?
He might be the next Joe Gomez but at least he was brought up through our ranks and knew the rough & tumble of EFL football.
Hopefully he'll be a good acquisition but not sure if he's what you need when struggling at the bottom of League 1.
Dont have a clue what he is like, but if he had positive feedback from their manager after than match, I would hope he can cope with Fleetwood.
